I rented a 17' van from Hampton ace hardware and they were great but the van they had was in pretty bad shape but it got the job done,luckily I only had to move a few things a short distance,I wouldn't of trusted that van on a long trip

My gas quantity was incorrect. I called Ace Hardware (where I picked the truck up from) and the lady said it was taken care of. I asked did I need to come back in and she said no. I get my receipt this morning and I was charged $15.38 for fuel. I called back and was told there was nothing they could do and that I needed to call 757-218-1844 or 800-789-3638. The gentlemen that answered 757-218-1844 initially stated there was nothing he'd do so I explained again what happened and that I had a picture of the mileage and gas from when I picked up the truck. He said he would call me back. I'm still waiting on his call.

first this is my second rental in the last two weeks. my biggest issue was 7/31. I reserved a 15 ft truck that was not there. I reserved it for 9am, I called to let know that know i will be there by no later 11. I gave a call since on the 7/24 the gave my truck away. Well we get there no truck. Jade at Ace wonderful customer service. she tried to call around there was not truck there was a truck due to come in and we had to take it. it was a 10ft truck which cause a HUGE inconvenience by needing to make multiple trips and a delay because there was a huge storm that cause us to stop for about 2 hours. I know I can not control anyone returning the truck but try calling the customer and if start looking into getting a person a back up asap.

I have no problems with the location they were great. I have used I Uhaul for my moves over the years both local & long distance moves but this was the worst experience of my life!
I originally wanted to pick up the truck on JClyde Blvd which was closer to me but they didn't have a 10 ft truck so I got a text stating my pick up location had changed to the Ace Hardware location on Nickerson Blvd which was fine. I called Uhaul customer service because I didn't want to have 2 reservations for the same day. The call center rep assured me that the 609 J Clyde Blvd was canceled. However on the morning of my move I got a call from a very rude & nasty rep from the J Clyde location who advised me my rental had been canceled. I explained the situation to her about the text stating my location had been changed she didn't care no apology no empathy instead I was met with hostility! Then when I went to the 2098 Nickerson location to pick up my truck it took over half hour to get registered because your system was overloaded the truck was not on full so I ended up paying for gas for not only my rental but the person who had rented the truck before me! Absolutely horrible service!!

The truck was not clean inside. The a/c did not work and there was a problem with the brakes. This location did reduce the price we had to pay once they verified that the a/c did not work. The staff was friendly and helpful.

There's nothing that needs to be done to improve. From the start of my experience which began by phone with Jade & her awesome phone courtesy & professionalism, to the in store experience with Morris when picking up the truck, 'EVERYTHING' was absolutely great! I've already began recommending this location to friends & family & I'd certainly come back again! Thanks so much!

Make your truck rentals available in the location your customers ask for! Do not cause your customers to have to drive extra mileage to pickup their rentals. Will not use you company again!

I have rented U Hauls many times from many different places. However, as long as I'm in Virginia, I will never rent one from anywhere else than my favorite ACE Hardware store! They are the best at everything they do, including renting out U Haul trucks!

Drove 52 miles. Put 4 gallons of fuel in the 10 foot truck and was still charged for another 2 gallons ($7.50). Called the U-Haul rental, gave me an 800 number, called it, was transferred, now said they would get back to me within 3 days. What a run around and poor customer satisfaction.
