Got into truck and it had a low tire light on and immediately had to go to service to have it aired up

There was a short in the truck. The windshield wipers, turn signals, and air conditioning did not work on a VERY rainy day of moving. We had to pull over several times and take back roads for our safety. This caused the mileage (that we have to pay for) to increase significantly due to not being able to take main roads and trying to beat out the storms without being able to load the truck fully. We called for help, and after a VERY long hold period, they said we could return the truck, but they would have to check the schedule to see if other trucks were available. We ended up just keeping the truck as we did not want to increase mileage even more to go back to U-HAUL. I have used U-Haul (this specific location) multiple times over the years and have never had an issue. I am upset that no compensation was offered to make this right, as I go out of my way to visit this location for the usually exceptional service.


The young black guy working the front was AMAZING. Not just to me, but to everyone.

When I got there, I couldn't register online because the truck wasn't in the right place. I went inside and waited in a really long line (to be expected when online registration isn't working) but they didn't have equipment for some folks even though they were able to reserve it online, the line was structured in a way that made me walk by everyone once I checked out because there was only one way in and one way out (not great during a pandemic), and many employees were not wearing masks. Then, I finally find my truck and it's sandwiched in between 2 other trucks so I had to wait until someone came to help me move the other trucks so I could leave. This all took 45 minutes, which I was charged for. Then I bring back the truck 5 hours early and still get charged for the full day (although I'm not sure if that's the policy; though, if it is, that's just bad business). Definitely worst U-Haul experience to date and I've rented a LOT of U-Hauls.

Tried to charge me more than my quote on pickup of truck but managed to over ride system to correct it. Then when I came back for auto transport another person tried to charge me over $600 MORE for the transport!! They finally got it right but it was an unpleasant experience.

Charged me a late fee when I dropped off my trailer a full day early. They did not check in my trailer until 24hrs after I dropped it off, and then charged me an extra day of use and coverage. This has happened twice at this location... Pick another drop location.

It was easy to find, easy to get to. There was plenty of open space to maneuver the vehicle. The one individual I did interact with was helpful and kind.

Did self-check-in and when I went to pick up the key for the truck, was given the wrong key. I went back to tell the man he gave me the wrong key and I was told that the key he gave me was the correct key, I was just looking at the wrong truck. I confirmed that the online system was telling me the other truck, but was told to take the one with the key he gave me. I got into that truck and began to drive away as another employee ran after me and said that it was the wrong truck. I explained that is exactly what I told the other employee and he said he had the key in his pocket by accident. This process took way too long and even when I tried to fix the problem in the first place, they did not listen to me. I ended up being late to my scheduled time at the furniture store due to this negligence. They seemed very disorganized even though they did not seem very busy.

We've rented from uhaul before and this was absolutely the worst and it was so awful that we will not rent from the again. We are willing to pay extra than support uhaul again. First, we rented a 26 foot truck but they we over rented so we ended up getting a 10 foot truck and had to take multiple trips instead of one large trip. Next, when we went to go get this tiny truck no one inside as workers were wearing mask even though we had a county mandate to be wearing one. There were even signs up asking customers to be wearing a mask. Once the truck was brought up to us, we had zero pads. We paid for 12 pads and so I had to go back inside because the manager that checked us in didn't tell us that we had to grab the pads ourself by the front door. Once driving the truck to our home, we noticed that the air wasn't working. So on this HOT July day, we not only had the smallest truck to move our belongings but we also had to do it with zero air! We also had to sweep out the back as it was covered in dirt before we started to put our belongings in the back. Over all, this was a horrible experience and next time we will spend double or even more so we don't have to rent from uhaul.

The African American guy (didn't get his name) that helped me forced me into getting insurance on the vehicle and said it was “required” but the credit card pad gave me an option to decline. I understand giving someone the knowledge to make a good decision but don't try to deceive me into getting something without giving me a choice. When I brought it up that it was giving me a choice, he continued to say it was required. Didn't like that at all and he came off as being rude too. I should of just walked out and did business else where. Everyone and everything else was fine but I would definitely be aware of this type of behavior. Regards

I requested an appliance dolly and received a utility dolly. Since I chose a 6AM pickup I was left no choice but to use the utility dolly instead. This caused the overall move of large items to be very difficult and required extra effort to do so. I would like a refund for the appliance dolly as it was not provided as requested. I did feel the 24/7 pickup went very smoothly and I did appreciate that.

Was told trailer would be ready at 10am but after scheduling my 2 hour drive to get there was told it won't be available for at least an hour. Was told would receive a call when ready but after waiting for the hour I drove back to location without a call and trailer was setting on lot ready to go. Was told just arrived but there was no vehicle in site around it. Was just really upset had a schedule for the day around the pick up time so my whole day was off . The vehicle I was hauling was broke down and had appointment to get it looked at and they had to wait on me and put there other customers off because they were expecting me so that might cost me for the customers they lost because of my schedule being postponed. And also since your trailer needed repair in Connersville it cost me over twice as much because I didn't have time to return to Indy, when you had one in Connersville that needed repair


I rented the 5x8 cargo trailer with the expressed purpose of moving a 75 inch television. I purchased all the subsequent packaging to move a television from my U-Haul location packaged to TV and loaded it. Once I arrived at my destination I was utterly shocked to find that the moving pads, plastic wrap and television box were all wet from a substantial roof leak in the trailer. I took a photos of the water damage to the packaging as well as the water that was pooling up in the trailer from the center over the axle towards the front by the tongue. As you can imagine I am very angry at the quality of product that was rented to me and the possibility of water damage to such an expensive electronic item. There is absolutely no reason that trailer should be in inventory or available for rental in the condition that it is in and with a roof leak as substantial as that. It defeated the entire purpose of me renting it when I may as well have transported my $1200 television in an open trailer or truck bed since it was in no way protected from the heavy rains in central Indiana tonight. As a long time U-Haul customer who has rented from you for years, purchased moving materials and services, storage and even multiple hitch installs on multiple vehicles I am totally disgusted and appalled by the level of customer service and quality of product I was given today.

Service was good but no masks on many employees which made me uncomfortable. Van drove fine and was in good shape but was dirty and I was told they did not have hand sanitizer when I asked if it was cleaned before hand and they said no.

I rented a tow dolly and the right tail light fell out due to piss poor rivets installed and the ramp spring loaded locking pin fell out somewhere and ramp fell onto the road dragging it. Tail lights need to be better fastened into the plastic fenders due to how much vibration this trailer sees while hitting bumps.

It took me two days to pay for the rental of my truck and I finaly had to go to a different location to pay because the agent would never call me back so I could pay my bill.

Instructions about how to find truck via mobile were unclear. I paid for an appliance dolly and did not get it (I thought it would be in the truck and didn't realize it wasn't and wasn't given any instructions how to get it). They sent me a link with the instructions on how to return but the link was broken, so I'm not sure if I returned the truck correctly.

I reserved the truck to be picked up in Monticello you called me at 3:00 the afternoon before and said the truck I reserved was in Monroe In. Which I had never even heard of found out it was an hour and half away
