Samuel WIt took us 1 hour and 1/2 bc we could not get code. Called the phone number. Kept redirecting back to the beginning. It was so frustrating. It was dark and no one could help. The phone person couldn’t see what was going on I entered the drivers license photo 5 times. This was so ridiculous.
Joshua YNumber 1, this location is only open 1 hour per day, which makes it nearly impossible to talk to an employee. Number 2, the person who accepted my key and contract added an extra charge for being "over mileage." ( The person who checked the vehicle in the day after we dropped it off) On the online registration it asked where I was moving from and to. I put down my daughter's apartment address and the storage unit location we were moving to, thinking that's the information they needed. The night before we picked up the UHaul the location of pickup was changed, which was out of the way, but I assumed it was because the truck we needed was not at the original location I signed up for. When we got to the storage unit to unload the furniture we then had to drive to the drop off location. UHaul does not take into account the miles you drive from their facility to the location you pick up your furniture and they don't consider the mileage from the unloading location to the drop off location. We turned it in on the same day we picked it up, which happened to be on a Sunday. Therefore, we were unable to speak to an actual person, so that the details about mileage could be discussed. We were charged for driving more miles than we indicated on the reservation. We put $40 worth of gas, which was 9.5 gallons of gas. We traveled 76 miles, so that would indicate that we were getting about 8 miles per gallon. Yet, we were charged an additional amount for gas, stating that we were below the starting point of the gas gauge. I disagree with the practice of adding charges like this, that are beyond the customer's control. Your reservation forms need to be more clear about address moving from and to, if you need pick up location and drop off location instead. It seems that every business I have encountered in the past few months has had similar practices that are contrary to good customer service practices. Im not a happy customer at all.
Randy BI got charged 700$ for a miscommunication between here and my pickup location.
