I was very annoyed because I booked to pick up in Hays, then had to drive 30 minutes to and from Lacrosse twice because the customer service person told us our truck was not set up for mobile pickup at 6 AM when we got there and had no instructions for retrieving the keys. When we came back two hour later, they told us it HAD BEEN set up for mobile pickup and we could have gotten it at 6, but we had no instructions for doing so. The app was useless. Customer service was clueless. Driving to Lacrosse twice was a waste of time and money and put me behind. I should be paid for my gas.

How U-Haul Reviews WorkThe staff was courteous and quick to help. However, the cargo area had not been swept out and the cabin area was quite filthy. Also, the van had slightly less than 1/4 tank of gas which required an immediate stop for fuel.
Chad HIt was not the locations problem it was U-Haul not filling my order for blankets and a refrigerator dolly. No one called to tell me that they had none available in the district. I had to drive 30 miles to the closest rental yard. A waste of valuable time.
John CThird time we have returned a truck here. Always helpful and attentive.
Leslie LThe staff that handles the rental was not not present for the rental and other staff was not familiar with the process. I waited over 30 minutes to pick up a reserved 6X12 trailer while the staff had to figure out how to complete the rental. More than one person should be trained on the renting process or the individual responsible for the rental should keep up on rentals and have them ready prior to not being there. A process in place would have helped out tremendously! The rental trailer's floor had mud on the floor and I needed to sweep it out prior to loading it up. The staff who helped figure out the rental didn't know how to hook up the trailer and I had to do it all myself from figuring out ball size, picking the correct hitch and wiring harness. No safety inspection was done like checking lights, I had to complete that after the staff left to go back inside. The staff was only instructed to take pictures of the hook up for insurance purposes. Once again that was not helpful. If I didn't already have a knowledge of pulling trailers, like a lot of the population, things probably could have been bad. Picking the wrong sized hitch or ball can be a huge hazard if it comes off the hitch driving down the road or cross country like I did. Training for staff or having a process in place would have been very helpful.
