Upon the employee hooking up, the trailer lights were not checked. Soon into the dark of evening a police officer let me know I did not have tail lights. I recommend that it be standard that a dealership employee should be required to check trailer lights before letting a customer pull away. Many customers don't pull trailers regularly & don't have that knowledge about lights, nor repairs needed by law enforcement to proceed. Cost me a night at a hotel to pull the trailer the next day without trailer lights. Trailer pulled well. Paperwork in the Hardware store was prompt & courteous.
