for check in via the app, it was not a fast process. I felt extremely unsafe standing at the edge of a gas station entering info on my phone like my family contact verification, drivers license. I should be aware of my surroundings, not focused on the phone check in for so long. why cant this be entered ahead of time so the location check in is just a few clicks? the lock box was corroded and I needed to get the attendants help to open it

GLENDA MFirst pick-up location, UHAL would not start. Awful customer service to get a different truck. Get another location and refused to give keys to the truck because they were not the original pick-up location. This process took several hours, many customer service calls that were unhelpful, and was the worst Uhal experience.
JAMES HThis location was a gas station and had no one on site to represent U-Haul. The gas station attendant gave me a number to call. After waiting in line and uh confusion, I was given a phone number and was toldI had to call someone else. We finally got our reservation processed only to find after loading up the U-Haul that the locking mechanism was broken and missing a piece. When contacting the U-Haul person I had been speaking with. He told me I had to cancel my reservation. I explained to him that the reason why this was a one-way 4 x 8 U-Haul was because I was here in Denver cleaning out my son’s apartment who had passed away last week he was only 39 and without skipping a beat and showing no compassion or empathy. He said that I either had to take the U-Haul or cancel my reservation. At which point I also told him I had taken pictures of the inside because I had to sweep it out because it was dirty with debris and an empty alcohol bottle. He seemed stunned and said oh sorry he didn’t know about it, which was also his same response for the broken locking mechanism. I told him it was late and I just wanted to get back to my hotel. Could you please upgrade my reservation to the next size up and let me be on my way? He again said no. That I either had to take it or we had to cancel the reservation. I hung up the phone and immediately called U-Haul customer service who by the way was absolutely wonderful! He too didn’t understand why I wasn’t upgraded and sent on my way. However, he talked to his manager who was about to leave because it was almost 8 PM and end of business day, and he was informed to tell me to take the U-Haul and have roadside assistance come and fix the U-Haul at the hotel. So after rigging and bungee cording the door to stay close so we could get back to our hotel, we did just that and I believe our roadside assistance name was Jesus and he was also equally as wonderful. The only good thing was the customer service received by U-Haul and the roadside assistance that we received. The customer service that I received from the U-Haul site was 100% awful and would never recommend this place.
