Easy drop off after hours

This is not a reflection on the pick-up location but more a concern on the U-Haul reservation policy. It worked out just fine for me because the truck I requested more then 30 days out was made available at the location that I requested. However, I learned through the process that isn't always the case and you could be notified up to a day before your pick-up that your truck could be in another location and that the equipment you requested will be provided as long as the pick-up location can provide it. I feel that U-Haul needs to take the guess work out of the equation and that if a reservation is made, then the truck and equipment you have requested will be ready to go at the time and place you requested without having to wait for the 11th hour notification.

I had asked for the drop off to be at a location we were familiar with and it was apparently changed by the person at the pick up location. My sister in law picked up the truck and had know way of knowing that it wasn't the one we had requested. Super disappointed as we drove to the expected drop off to start the return after hours to find out we had to drive to another location after 10 pm in an area we were not familiar nor comfortable with. Not happy with the whole experience. I spent a lot of time on holds over several days making this reservation and then correcting errors made after speaking with reps and clearly spelling out what we wanted. Super disappointed.

Dropped the rental after dark and after they were closed. The place was easy to find and parking lot was well lit.


Finding the location was a little tricky as there were few decently sized signs to identify the building. Only my reserved truck was visible from the road but I had to turn around after not finding the location the first time. Other than that little hiccup, the truck was virtually brand new and U-Haul once again helped accomplished the needs I had.

I did the pre-registration except payment, but at pickup he still had to fill out quite a bit information, not sure if there was a disconnect or if that was because I hadn't prepaid.

Open on time and not 20-25 minutes late.would have a block at the rear of the trailer. Straps on the front for the tires slipped off during the trip. A lot of wasted time. Having to check every hour.

The location was difficult to navigate to because of the surrounding railroad bridges - the clearance was 12' and the height of the truck was 12' and these were poorly indicated. This would be the only reason we wouldn't recommend to a friend. With regards to the staff here, the guy helping us was very easy to work with, quick, and helpful.

The truck I had reserved was not there - the staff did not assist me in contacting the 800 # to work out the problem. They did not offer additional mileage coverage. Inaccurate fuel level on paperwork.

The truck that we rented was unsafe to drive. We didn't know how bad it was until we had the whole thing packed and were on the highway, for two hours. The whole cab shook so intensely my dad had to death grip the wheel with both hands the entire ride. We even took a video of it. He is a UPS truck driver so he knows what driving a large truck is supposed to feel like. I am so upset we paid $200 to rent this vehicle. The company that rented it should have done all the check to make sure it was running nice. Either they didn't check at all, or didn't feel like dealing with the problems. We will be emailing and calling customer service!
