I made a reservation for a 15' truck. Two days before my scheduled move a U Haul representative contacted me to inform me that my pickup location had been changed to a location farther away. My confirmation stated a 12:00pm pickup time, but I was told I could arrive any time that morning. When we arrived, there were no trucks available. We were told to return later when a truck might be returned—possibly around 3:30pm or 4:15pm. This was extremely disruptive. Family members traveled from Pennsylvania and Connecticut to Virginia specifically to help with this move, and the lack of an available truck despite a confirmed reservation caused major delays and unnecessary stress. This experience was unacceptable and did not reflect the reliability I expected when booking with U Haul.

The staff/attendant was great and put my mind at ease from the start with the rental process. Fabulous customer service, price was reasonable, and the vehicle was clean and easy to drive. Jeffrey BThe truck was clean. However, we did not receive the dolly or moving pads that we requested. We called to be reimbursed and it still is not off from our bill. Also the instructions are confusing. The sign on the wall should state that the trucks are located behind the Jersey Mike's. The address listed for truck location takes you to Buffalo Wild Wings. The process to get your truck when the office is closed is not simple. Also the day we rented the U-Haul app was not working properly and that added to confusion and frustration.

Learning after I found the vehicle that I had to go back a quarter mile to the store to find the key box was frustrating. *The app would not allow me to upload photos to complete the self-service pickup process. *The truck’s box and cab had items, including trash, left behind by previous customers. *The dolly I requested and paid for was not in the truck. I’ve pointed this out three times and am still being charged for it. *I was unable to perform the self-service dropoff because of the problem with the app and had to call customer service again. It was an overall poor experience and the only thing that keeps me coming back to U-Haul is the sacristy of competition in this area.
