Reservation for this truck was made well in advance. The pickup location was chosen because they open early, stock packing supplies and don’t have rush hour traffic problems. I flew in to pick up the truck to move an estate. The day before pickup U-Haul called and moved the location to this one, which is both further away and in the middle of rush hour traffic. I specifically confirmed with the person that called from the office that there would be someone at the new location for 9AM pickup. On arriving just before 9, I discovered that the new location opens at 10. This required rescheduling my packing help while standing in the parking lot waiting. The person in the office was nice, but informed me that they stock no packing supplies in that office. The order had been canceled by U-Haul when they changed locations, and I was not informed. I had to drive the truck back to the original pickup location to get supplies. Finally, when I got in the truck, the gas tank was virtually empty, so the first order of business was to find a gas station. The person at the original pickup location was helpful, apologetic and had what I needed. He was the one bright spot in this whole fiasco. While the location personnel were friendly and helpful as much as they could be, they had no control over the problems U-Haul was causing. Overall, this experience was well below the standard of service that U-Haul usually provides.

This location had the worst setup. The instructions said that the trucks were located behind Trader Joe's next to Home Depot. I drove around everywhere then I found far down behind Jersey Mikes. Then when I attempted to pick up my truck it said the GPS location could not see that I was nearby so then I had head on down to Ace Vacuums for the the GPS to see me, then I had to head all the way back down to find my assigned truck, then head back to Ace to grab my key and provide 3 headshots so it could verify me. The truck was dirty and it had someone's old Starbucks in the passenger door growing something nasty in there. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
Matthew FI made a reservation for a 15' truck. Two days before my scheduled move a U Haul representative contacted me to inform me that my pickup location had been changed to a location farther away. My confirmation stated a 12:00pm pickup time, but I was told I could arrive any time that morning. When we arrived, there were no trucks available. We were told to return later when a truck might be returned—possibly around 3:30pm or 4:15pm. This was extremely disruptive. Family members traveled from Pennsylvania and Connecticut to Virginia specifically to help with this move, and the lack of an available truck despite a confirmed reservation caused major delays and unnecessary stress. This experience was unacceptable and did not reflect the reliability I expected when booking with U Haul.
David PThe staff/attendant was great and put my mind at ease from the start with the rental process. Fabulous customer service, price was reasonable, and the vehicle was clean and easy to drive. I will definitely rent from this location again in the future as it was an excellent experience and seamless:). 5 Stars!
