I originally scheduled online to rent the vehicle from another location nearby. The next day I recieved a phone call from a Uhaul associate informing me that the vehicle would not be at their location but it would be at the 1488 Autoplex location. I asked them if there would be a person at the location to check me in and that I preferred not to do an online checkin. They informed me that someone would be there to check me in. Also we were given the option to rent a dolley and pads, we selected that option. The day of pick up, we showed up and there was no one there to check us in. The building was locked, dark, and empty. To say the least I was upset. I checked in online but the servers timed out on me multiple times and it took over 30 minutes to do the checkin (significantly longer than a person checking us in, despite Uhaul's claim that online checkin is faster). This caused us to be late, despite coming early, and left family and friends waiting for us to help us move (they were not happy that we left them waiting). During the checkin I noticed the pads and dolley that we had ordered, far in advance, were not present. While trying to check in my wife called a Uhaul helpline and the associate told us we would not be charged for the dolley and pads. Because there was no dolley (like we had ordered) it took us a significantly longer time to complete the move and it was much more strenuous. Also a few pieces of furniture were scratched up because we didn't have any pads. To add to all of this when I returned to drop off the truck, there was still no one there, and Uhaul tried to charge me for the dolley and pads even though the Uhaul associate said that wouldn't happen. I am absolutely done using Uhaul. You will never get another penny from me. I understand that there is mass craze of people moving right now and that Uhaul can presently get away with terrible service and charge whatever they like and take advantage of people with no consequences. That's not going to last forever though and your reputation will follow you into the future and then you will reap what you have sown.Tyler G.

Site said I could pick up at 8 even though location didn't open till 10. No keys could be found and when I tried to get it site said come back at 10. Was dropped off at 10 and office closed. No keys. Waited a bit then called 800 number. On hold 45 mins before shop owner came. Paid for labor from 8:30 to 10:30 but didn't get truck till nearly 11.MaryAnne H.

Went I arrived I was not clear on the intructions on how to get the key to open the truck and there were no one in the office to assist me. I called customer service and the waiting to get a customer service representative was very long more than 30 mins plus and went I finally get to a representative I was transfer then I wait again then finally I spoke with the right department but the agent that was helping me was not very patience and he was in a hurry to hang up and he did before I was able to open the truck door. Then I was very upset by the situation I need it the truck I was in a urgent situation I need it to move furniture out from a house to other house and I only have that day to finish, I was very upset about the fact that I was not getting the assistant I had already paid and I was not able to get the key I spend 4 hrs at the location trying to get someone to help me then on my four call someone answer in Spanish by then I could not speak because I was crying of frustration this person hear that I was upset and he went beyond to help me and I finally open the truck I was making several mistakes and he was able to walk me truth the process then I try to start the truck and the truck did not start I turn the key over and over and the truck did not start then the agent help me to transfer me to the road assistance because trying to get another truck will not be ready for the same day because was pass 7:00 pm them the road assistance line was busy for a while and the agent could not hold in the line any linger he apologize but before he left the call he check I will be help soon then after a while I got a agent fro road assistance and they took my location and they said they will be sending a road assistance to check the truck then I called my son to come to help me start the rental truck and he did come with the cables and he started the truck went we left the location a few minutes latter I got a called from the road assistance person saying he was a the location I explain to him that I was concerned went I stop the truck at my house then I will be having the same issue so I ask him to meet me at my home to check the truck he respond he need it to asked the company if that was ok then he did arrive to my home and he change the battery on like five mins the truck was ready and running properly but the time we finish loading the truck it was midnight and by the time we arrive to baytown was 1:30 am by the time we finish on loading the truck was 2:30 pm then I return the truck about 2:50 am the I arrive to my home pass4:00 am yes it was a horribly experience renting the truck and the price was extremely hight considering all the estrÃ©s U-Haul Cause to me and this affect my health. Ironical i ending paying U-Haul miles plus gas plus the base cost all of this in exchange for a horrible esperance. Yes U-Haul you have lot to improve.Margarita G.
Truck was fine despite 161,700 miles, but the tread depth on the front tires is below the minimum safe amount. I mentioned this to John, the Mgr, when I delivered the truck and he said yes, it's due for maintenance, and U-Haul always does good maintenance. Please replace the front tires. The current tires could be a real safety hazard, especially in the rain. Also, the check-out and check-in takes a lot of time for verification, I think you should warn new customers to allow at least 20 minutes for each. LeeLee T.

Truck I reserved had bald front tires. One was low on air. I demanded a different truck. Dirty. Had to wait while agent looked in every other truck for a dolly I had reserved. Was wrong type but the only one. Next day I returned truck during working hours. No one at the office. No one answered phone. I left message. Never got a call back. The mobile pickup process is extremely long. Let the person get approved prior to their pick up time on the lot. It took 45 minutes to pick up our vehicle which is incredibly too long when you're on a timeline. The chat with the virtual agent took 20 minutes for them to message me for the first time.Melanie A.

There was no one there at my original pickup time. The manager showed up about 20 minutes late. He was very helpful, though, and got me hooked up and on my way without any additional issues. There was a significant amount of damage to the trailer including a broken hinge on one of the doors and the screw lock on the ball receiver was bent.John H.
