November 30, 2020 To whom it may concern Truck and trailer rented by Karen Konrad on 11/12/2020 Contract # 29741554 Re: Complaint Our daughter Karen Konrad rented one of your trucks and trailer to be picked up in Grants Pass, Oregon , to then be driven to Gilbert, Arizona as the final destination. The problems began very early on. Four days before picking the U-HAUL up, and several weeks after the reservation was made, we were told that we had to pick the equipment up in Medford, OR, and NOT Grants Pass, She explained that it was a two hour trip for us, and time was limited. Your CS Rep informed us that we were being provided with an additional 150 miles and an additional day for the rental. That was nice, but still very inconvenient. After all, Grants Pass, Oregon has at least five locations to pick up the equipment, one that was only two miles from the house. So why were we â€œinconveniencedâ€ just because U-HAUL couldn't find the personnel to bring the equipment to us., We were first sent to a used car dealer in Medford that looked like a junk yard and all they had was 1 (one) 17 foot truck sitting across the street. There were no other trucks or trailers. When my daughter contacted you, we were then sent to one of your full service facilities a few miles down the road, still in Medford. When we arrived at the next Medford location, the gentlemen couldn't find her reservation. It was confirmed and reconfirmed three times. It would not come up with the reservation number, and finally came up with our phone number. Then the non-fun continued. She had ordered a 20 foot truck with car transport, but they did not have one and we were â€œforcedâ€ to take a 26 foot truck. She had ordered the 20 foot van for 2 (two) reasons: 1: That's all she needed, and 2: Where the truck was to be loaded was a long winding tree lined narrow hilly road it took a lot of time and twisting and turning forward and back to get the 26 footer in to load Additionally, because we were â€œforcedâ€ to rent the equipment in Medford, instead of Grants Pass, a sales tax was added. The gentleman at the Medford location said that was a â€œnew law for Medford only.â€ It is not our fault that we had to pick the equipment up in Medford, and we asked that he waive the charge. He claimed he was only allowed to waive $50 of the charge. We have been using U-HAUL for many years, and each time we use your services, the quality of service declines. The customer service is not up to par, the equipment availability is only convenient for your corporate offices and not for the customer. The ordeal of moving is stressful enough. Dealing with your corporate people is not conducive to friendly customer relations. If we were to rate your services today, it would be a 2 out of 5 starts. Sincerely, Lester W Line Jr. Driver

Have better attendant service
I walked to the location to rent a truck. When I walked in and approached the counter I told the lady I wanted to rent a truck. She asked me if I had a reservation and I said no. She then told me I could not rent because every truck on the lot was reserved. I left and setup a reservation online and then approached the counter again. The lady denied me again and told me my reservation didn't matter because they didn't have any trucks available. I then downloaded the app and did everything through that while waiting outside. Once finished it told me to go inside for a key. I approached the counter and asked for the key and showed the rep the truck number from the app. He gave me the key meanwhile the lady rep glared at me the entire time. I used the rented truck for an hour and then pulled into the uhal return spot and waited for almost 15 minutes but nobody came out to return my rental. I decided to return it though the app and finished that and went inside to drop off the keys. The lady from earlier was still there and demanded that I tell her where the truck was parked and that I was required to put the truck in the return line. I told the lady I took a picture of where it was parked and submitted on the app. She again demanded to know where it was. At this point I asked the lady why she has been so rude to me over renting and returning a truck and told her to look online as I followed the app. I didn't get the reps name but she was older, short, blonde, and very rude. She shouldn't be in customer service and clearly didn't want to do her job. Uhual must lose a lot of business because she is lazy. Worst experience at a Uhaul I've ever had.
I don't see anything that could be improved everything was fast efficient and affordable

The truck smelled of pot in the cab and in the truck container. It stick to my furniture and my kids stuff also the clothing, I had to wash everything. It was so bad that my kids wouldn't allow the young children in the truck.. I have spoken to U-Haul twice about the incident and I have not herd anything back. I am going to follow-up on this and demand a refund for the extra work I had to do with the sanitation cleaning of all my furniture, clothing and personal belongings. I am also going to put this on Angie's List of places not to go to.
I mistakenly went first to a location on Crater Lake highway. While the person was polite and helpful, they were not masked. I suspect these are independently owned franchises but they do reflect on your company and thought you'd like to know.
Nothing the customers service was amazing
After hours drop off location needs to be revamped. I couldn't drop off after hours because of issues with my phone not able to send my current location. Couldn't return it until the next day. There needs to be a better way to do drop off rentals just like how rental cars are where you literally all you do is drop the keys off and they take care of the rest. This will improve your business.
Good equipment, clean location, great staff. Can't get much better than that.
We were not helped by anyone. We were told to unhook the trailer and we could leave. We brought the trailer back within a 24 hour period. You think the company would say thank you for returning it promptly and give us a refund of 250.00. With a trailer shortage you think the company would appreciate the quick turn in of the trailer.
I already submitted a complaint via email. In summary, the equipment I reserved was not available and the customer service representative was very rude.
Change you mile rate to a lower. I rented a Van and it was $19.95 and the end I paid more that $100 for half of the day and 61 mile. Way to expensive!
I was initially told I would have to travel 3.5 hrs one way to pick up my moving truck two, on Friday, when im leaving Saturday. Im also a single father, how am I supposed to drive up there and back and get my car home? Taxi? 20 minutes after requesting a supervisor I get told there will be a truck 25 minutes from my house. Awesome, Saturday at 645pm I get a call confirming my pick up. Kind of late but ok. I get to the location and they can't give me a truck, they are all only "in town". After about an hour they get approval to give me one. Not one of the nice new v10 Ford 26" trucks but an old extremely beat up GMC. It's missing the headlight bucket, dents and scratches everywhere, blue paint splattered down the side. But fine, I have a truck, for my 8 hour drive. I made a mistake at the destination, I forgot 12 moving blankets I didnt use, I explained to the employee that I forgot them but will be back in town with them the next day (I dropped the truck off a day early). He refused to assist me at all. I finally came to an agreement ,but all he wanted to do was ask me "what do you want me to do? Its not my fault you forgot them" I 100% agree it isnt, but i also don't work for Uhaul or have the slightest clue what he can do about it... Overall a horrible experience with UHaul... again.
Seats had a little bit of dog hair or something on them but overall vehicle was clean and experience was positive.

We pulled up and a employee meet us in the truck and checked us in and we were on our way in a few minutes. Great system, there was a line inside of 10 people, glad I didn't have to stand and wait.
The truck rented tracked crooked while driving on the road. It appears something may be amiss with the front end. This truck also had a heavy odor of marijuana and no doubt it was used to transport this product.
Very good service and very cleaned
The truck was in excellent condition. We didn't have to wait when picking up and only a few minutes when returning.
Online check in and Reservation is awsome, I like the 24hr. drop off so convenient. I like renting from this Location, staff is always nice and make things go quickly. Keep doing what your doing its Good to have staff so Polite and always helpful.
Wash the inside of the windows and get new wiper blades
This location is either understaffed or there is something terribly wrong with how customers are served. It took 40 minutes for me to get my trailer, even though I checked in online and had everything done prior to arrival. It was the same story when I returned my equipment. Took almost 30 minutes of waiting to get my trailer returned. Even customers that are only buying moving supplies had to wait too long to just pay for some boxes.
I registered and paid online but the local place had a hard time locating that and we had a computer glitch...Otherwise a great experience
