The truck is classed as a commercial vehicle, and the highways here require chains onboard for commercial vehicles. U-Haul does not rent chains with their trucks, which makes them illegal to be operated on the highways. This requires the customer to source/purchase chains to carry them, whether using them or not. Places that sell chains, generally have a no-return policy. The cheapest chains could find were almost $200, and I didn’t need to put them on. U-Haul needs to find a way to include chains with trucks that cannot be highway driven legally during winter months. I’d rather rent them from U-Haul for $50 than spend $200 to buy a low quality set just to be legal on the road.

NICOLE BWhen a client orders a particular size unit from a specific location with 2 (two) to 3 (three) weeks notice. The client would and should expect the said ordered size of unit, to be where the client ordered from. That was not the case here. We decided to go with the smaller unit, rather than drive for over an hour to get the unit ordered. Thought u-haul customer service sucked.
