LISA BLisa is 👌 awesome
LISA BThe rented truck that was issued to me had one major flaw. I was not aware of this flaw, BUT neither was Star Mini Storage, Mesa, AZ. Whoever performs tire maintenance services for U-Haul or Star Mini Storage (I am uncertain of the maintenance process), is doing a major disservice for U-Haul, at least on Truck # TT 5498K. Just to set this narrative up, my rented truck TT 5498K suffered a blown-out tire, fortunately on an inside "dually" tire. I left Mesa, AZ on Thursday, 10 July, with an intended destination of Spring, TX (outside of Houston). I noted the the "ride" in this truck was very rough, and I literally bounced across AZ and NM. On my second day (Friday) I drove across West Texas, and the rough ride continued, even after getting on the good roads that Texas is known for. After driving over 800 miles (somewhere near Sonora TX), I started noticing rubber pieces coming off the truck. I immediately pulled over, and inspected the tires. I saw the inside dually on the driver side had shredded, but the outside dually was good. I called for help, and coordinated for service to meet me at the Pilot Truck Stop in Junction, TX. I also reported the incident to U-Haul, and they advised how to take care of the service costs. The business that I contact, A&A Tire of Ingram, TX were fantastic. The technician who cam eto my rescue reported the following items to me, that all combined to cause the blow-out. 1) The Tire stem from the inside dual tire had been broken off, most like by road debris, and caused the blow-out. 2) All Tires on the truck were over inflated to 90 PSI or higher. 3) The Truck's data sheet recommends the front tires at 75 PSI, and the rear tires at 80 PSI. 4) All rims on the truck are rated for 80 PSI. Whoever performs tire maintenance services for U-Haul or Star Mini Storage is doing a major disservice for U-Haul, at least on Truck # TT 5498K.
THOMAS DGood rental experience. Thanks.
