Michael BU-Haul should make it more clear up front that customers are expected to both pay a mileage fee and refuel the truck before return. I understood the mileage charge, but I assumed the fuel policy worked more like a standard “return it reasonably full” arrangement rather than needing to replace fuel so precisely. It was also obvious the previous renter only added enough gas to make the gauge read “F,” which makes the process frustrating and inconsistent from customer to customer. Overall, the rental process itself was fine, but the pricing and fuel expectations should be communicated more transparently. Also, backup cameras on the larger trucks would be a major improvement.
Joseph SThe 15' UHaul was in worse condition than almost any truck I've rented. The biggest issue was the brakes making a loud sound once it warmed up. But the truck looked old and worn out overall, and far less clean at the start than I am used to. The check-in process was also very slow, taking 25 minutes from arrival to leaving the lot for a simple 4 hour rental.
