The owner was not only extremely helpful but she went out of her way to stay open 30 minutes longer so I could arrive to rent a trailer before they closed for two days. This allowed me to get my moving completed and my projects done that I otherwise would have had to postpone or forgo. Her kindness saved me immense problems and incalculable time. I am so thankful - and she did it with a smile.

I will never spend another penny with u-haul after this rental experience. The day before my "reservation" I received a call stating that the truck I "reserved" for 8 AM is not available and that I now have to drive an hour to get a truck that isn't available until 2:30 PM. I drove an hour just to be told that the truck I came to get was not there. I was then instructed to drive another hour to another town to get a truck. When I finally got to an available truck (around 5 PM) none of the equipment I paid for to rent ($92 for furniture pads, dolly, etc.) was in the truck or available. I called u-haul and they suggested I drive another hour back to the location that didn't have my truck to get the equipment but I declined. In summary, I spent my entire load day chasing a truck around, didn't get the equipment I needed to assist me in loading my truck, and the best part is not one u-haul employee ever apologized or treated me like they even cared that my carefully planned move was ruined by their inability to perform their one function of renting me equipment at a specific time/location.

The U-Haul rep was not present at the location. I spoke to a person who was there to babysit a child and said the u-haul rep would be back later. He was friendly and did at least inspect the trailer.

Would highly recommend this location to anyone. The lady went out of her way to help me when my vehicle broke down in Oregon and my 16 year old & I were stuck on our way to Iowa from Washington. I wasnt going to get another UHaul after the very poor service I received from the regional representative, Ginger. I explained that my transmission went out in my car while towing a trailer up the mountain. Ginger and her team wanted to charge me double the price for 4x8 trailer because I was not returning it to the Iowa location. When I tried to explain that my vehicle broke down & I could not afford to pay double, nor should I have to because I was still getting a Uhaul, and Oregon is closer to Washington than Iowa. Ginger rudly replied that it wasnt her problem that my car broke down. It made me feel stupid & worthless. Ginger did finally agree not to charge me extra, but refused to give me any refund for returning the trailer to a closer location and despite the fact that I was now paying an additional $800 for a larger truck (which I only wanted a 10' truck, but Ginger would only find me a 15' truck 40 miles away). When I spoke with the amazing representative at the Milton-Freewater location, she was so kind to try and help me find a ride to her location because Ginger would not help me find a location closer to me. The location I got my truck at was 40 miles from where I was, and my car was not drivable. My family was in Washington & Iowa, so I had no way to get this truck. I was in a town that did not have taxi or uber or any way for me to get to the truck. When I explained that to the representative in the location I got the truck from, she went out of her way to help me get to her. It took a whole day to get there, but in the end because of her kindness my 16 year old & I made it safely to Iowa. I would like to say that in my experience of renting a UHaul, I've never been so mad as I was with the regional representative, Ginger, for her very rude & unkind words, but if not for the extreme kindness of the representative in Milton-Freewater, I would have never rented from UHaul again. I still feel that I should have recieved a refund for returning the trailer to a closer location, as it would not have cost as much in the first place. I couldnt take it to the original location due to the unfortunate circumstances of my car breaking down. I had to leave my car in Pendleton as payment for being towed off the mountain and had to pay an additional $100 to have the UHaul trailer towed too. I understand policies, as I have been in customer service management for over 20 years, but the rudness of your representative over my circumstances was something that I will remember & my daughter will remember forever. As it ultimately caused us the rest of our money and caused us to walk over 20 miles that day. Thank you for listening.
