Please be sure that you tell your customers when the Uhaul desk closes. It was only because Rick went out into the garage to find a mechanic that new how to check someone out for truck rental. The desk closed @ 3 and I didn't arrive until 4pm on Friday. When you have people coming in to help you move, it would have been disastrous if I could not have gotten the truck that Friday night. The mechanic that helped me was great. He really helped me out.

The business was clean and inviting but was closed when I dropped the trailer off.

I had scheduled a 20' truck for pick up on 07/01/17. When I arrived during what are normal hours for a Saturday and when I was scheduled to pick up the truck, there was a sign on the door stating they were closed that day for training and professional development. This was not communicated to me so I naturally assumed I would need to go to another location. I returned home and waited on hold for twenty minutes with UHaul customer service where they explained that the truck had been set up for self pick up. Again, this was not communicated to me prior to my scheduled date. Once back at the location I found the truck cab was filthy. There was a food wrapper in the passenger door, mud or clay caked on the floor mats, and food debris and straw wrappers in the cup holders. A very frustrating and disappointing rental.

Inertia (tongue) brake on trailer needs to be periodically checked for symmetrical operation, to insure it does not cause unexpected pull to right or left. The unit I rented was in very good condition in every other regard, and being experienced with this type towing system, I was prepared for the braking issue, but it could result in severe consequences for an inexperienced driver, especially as it is more pronounced once the trailer is loaded.

The girl who checked me out acted like she wished that she was doing something else and the trailer took longer than expected. When we finally got it hooked up the left blinker/brake light didn't work. After 5-10 minutes of unsuccessful attempted repairs I was told that I could take it as it was or go somewhere else.

Checkout of a trailer should include running lights for night time driving. Otherwise great service!

I understand U-Haul would not want customers adding unnecessary miles to their trucks, but I only drove direct routes. Perhaps other rental companies are stingy with their miles, but I will definitely work with them first before working with U-Haul again.
