The cabin of the truck should be clean not full of coffee splash. The service was excellent.

I was very annoyed when I received an email the night before my rental that my local location did not have the reserved unit. I had to add another 2 hours of driving to an already long day to get to Napanee and back. YOU REALLY SHOULD DO BETTER. The Camden Variety owner was very pleasant and helpful. The equipment was banged up, lots of stick-on x's, but worked fine.

Well, to start, we booked online 4 weeks before we needed the Uhaul. We got the email confirmation right away, to pick up in Kingston. Kingston was where we were moving my daughter from, back to Stratford. Then 4 days before moving day we got a call saying there was no 17' truck in Kingston, and would we take a 15? I said no, we were moving a family of 4 and needed the 17', so they gave us a 20' for the cost of the 17'. Which was great! However we needed to pick it up in Napanee, which was on the way to Kingston, so I said that would be fine. I called the day of, to say we would be arriving around 2pm to pick up the Uhaul. We arrived on time, with no signage indicating where the Uhaul business was located. There was a laundry mat, variety store and restaurant and a row of Uhaul vehicles. We had to wait for the "person" who did the Uhaul rentals to arrive as she wasn't there when we arrived. Then she couldn't find our booking.... oh ya and I had even gone online to do the registration, put in our DL etc to save time, on Friday. Not a real time saver... she finally found our booking. I asked if there was a furniture dolley in the truck already, she said no, and went and got one and set it by the end of the counter. We completed the inspection of the truck, and finally got the paper work sorted out. From the time we arrived till the time we got on the road, it was over an hour process. Which why is the mileage in miles, not km, hello this is Canada and no one knows what a friggin mile is... so after converting it on my phone to make sure we had enough, as once again, we were moving from Kingston to Stratford, which is 404 km and an extra 55 km from Napanee to Kingston. Still not 100% sure we have the miles thing figured out, we are on the road... only we don't have the dolley. So pulling off on the 401, my husband and 2 kids had to double back to get the dolley with our van, which was still at the end of the counter... The whole pick up was so painful that I thought nothing else could go wrong... boy I sure was mistaken. The odometer was also in miles, super, because I didn't need to know how fast I was going on the 401...and the 'Slow Down Speed Kills' sticker, that blocked my view of the 100+ km speed , was an added bonus. So nearly 2 hours later, after arriving in Napanee, we arrived in Kingston. I have rented Uhauls before and had a great experience, picking up in Stratford and dropping off in Stratford. I would never, ever, pick up in Napanee ever again. There was another customer trying to return a Uhaul, that arrived minutes after us. He had to wait, during our annoying, time consuming process. We apologized to him for taking so long... your welcome!

Could use better signage indicating that the location is actually inside & part of a convenience store. I wasn't sure that I was even in the correct building as there is no dedicated counterspace or customer service station. Staff were very helpful, polite & professional :)

We traveled one way from Kingston to Napanee Ontario which amounts to about 27 miles. We put in $20 cdn of fuel which did not move the gauge. We were then charged an additional $32.97US. There is no way we used that much fuel. There has to be something wrong with the truck. We call Uhaul to discuss and was call a few days later saying that the fuel charges would be waved. We have now received a bill with the fuel charges. We will never use UHaul ever again. Nor will we recommend

The people at this location were very nice but I almost died in that vehicle because it was leaking power steering fluid. Both of the large trucks there were in very poor running condition. The first truck that was brought out was spewing black smoke from underneath so we took the other truck which I guess was a huge mistake because of the fact it was leaking power steering fluid. Where I had to make an emergency stop because I literally could not steer the truck, I got harassed by the management of that business that I needed to move the truck because it was a fire truck zone. The roadside assistance rep I first talked to was very nice but I had to wait a half hour for a call back to get an ETA of when a mechanic would come and then waited over an hour for someone to show up even though there was a uhaul store not even 15 min away. The repair people for these vehicles are not actually at the uhaul stores. They are shops that uhaul has a contract with and apparently the person I was left waiting for was a mechanic somewhere in napanee. He got there and confirmed it was what we suspected, power steering fluid leak. So I called roadside assistance back and told them the mechanic said he couldn't fix it where it was and it could not safely be driven so a tow truck would need to be sent. They hung up with me and said they would call me back with an ETA of when the tow truck would come. Another long wait for that. I think I waited between 30 and 45 minutes for a call back (a different rep from roadside assistance this time. Not as friendly as the first rep) and was informed it was estimated that a tow truck would be there in about an hour. I told her I would not be waiting there another hour. My house was a 45 min drive away from where the truck was parked. I had my one year old son with me who was hungry, tired and upset from all these people yelling at his parents to move this unfit to drive vehicle for about 3 hours or more. And the response from the rep was that she would not recommend that because if anything happened to the truck after I left that it would be my responsibility to pay for any damages. I told her it was their responsibility to maintain their vehicles and clearly this one was not being properly maintenanced or this never would have happened. I was exhausted from loading and unloading the truck and driving 45 min and then having my poor son suffering, being yelled at by 3 men to move "my truck" and waiting ridiculous amounts of times for call backs and service people. It was a horrible experience and I will never rent any truck from any company in the future. Not just uhaul, no truck rental company because of what I went through. Exhausted physically and left waiting and waiting and waiting for hours just to be told that if anything happened to that death machine when I left that I'd be hooked in for any repairs was just outrageous. I should have been offered some of my money back and given apologies for that terrifying exp

Getting paper work done was a very long troubled experience, clerks not knowledgeable in printing contract. Plus a convenient store so kept leaving to wait on other customers. The truck was unfit for the road. Never use this company again.

Very friendly staff. They made it really positive.

I appreciated the lady taking note of my complains and seeing what she could do for me, but I thought I was entitled to a decent chunk of money off the rental because of the condition of the truck.
