My experience was not good. Communication was a central problem, and I do not know whether that is due to the particular pick up location or the UHaul reservation system. Although I received adequate notice of a change in address for my scheduled 7:30PM pickup, I did not receive adequate (or any advance) notice of the fact that my pickup location closed at 4:30PM. I was just about to leave my workplace at 4:50PM when I received a call from UHaul saying essentially, "I guess you already know that the pick up location closed at 4:30; please call us to pick up the truck after hours". However, when I called to pick up the vehicle, I discovered that I required a smart phone with internet access in order to pick up the truck. I do not have a smart phone, nor do I have data on my cell phone plan. I had to ask a friend to come by and work with my be using his phone just to pick up the vehicle. To add to the stress, the UHaul truck was parked in front of a car shop and the car shop owner was frustrated at having to wait for the UHaul truck to move so that he could move some vehicles for the car shop. The online check-in took about an hour to complete, adding again to the stress and frustration. To top it off, the truck did not have the Utility Dolly and 12 blankets I had reserved and paid for. The next morning, my wife stopped by a different UHaul location asking for these missing supplies because I had been led to believe (over the phone with UHaul) that I should probably ask for the supplies at a different location in case the arranged pick up location did not have them. The different UHaul location informed my wife that she should instead go to the arranged pick up location, which she did (one more delay on moving day!). At the arranged pick up location (BMG Auto Repair), my wife requested the Utility Dolly and blankets, and was given a dolly plus 6 blankets (not the 12 requested), without any questions about a reservation number or name. When I first started driving the (automatic transmission) truck, it stalled on a hill with a lighted intersection. Thankfully there were no other stalls after that. All in all, I was frustrated with UHaul over the experience and was leaning heavily towards no longer working with UHaul in the future.

truck ran poorly ,had exhaust leak. cab was littered with wraps and leafs from previous move no parking on site (was threatened by other shop if I parked there!)

Equip trucks with winter tires. My truck got stuck in a snowy parking lot in Nelson, and couldn't make it up a small hill. This resulted in me having to delay unloading the truck for 12 hours until the roads were sanded. Also, please include taxes in the online quote rather than tacking them on only when picking up the truck.

The booking rep booked my rental for 10 hours, unfortunately this location was only open for 7 hours and did not offer after hours drop off. They were really backed up when I got there so I didn’t even get the truck until an hour after my rental time started.

Pls make customer aware before they arrive at U-Haul, they may need a Adapter for the U-Haul trailer plug that can be picked up at the Princess auto just down the road, excellent customer service very kind and considerate of my concerns when i was confused about the adapter.

Tried to call costumer service three times to get the trailer earlier, an average of 20 minutes of wait on the phone for finaly having the line cut each time. Had to go directly in person to have an answer. Did not check if the car was in good shape enough when attaching the trailer... Lost it on the road for the first time 3 days later with a hitch broken... 800$ of towing to bring back to the uhaul dealer to rent a truck instead of a trailer... total expemses for our experience :2250$ ... Traile5x8r:700$ Towing in Ontario (with receipt) : 800$ Other truck uhaul to finish the road to Qc: 750$ Without counting the time and the motels... I know it's not totally all your fault, accidents happen... but can you informe me with all the money and the insurance i paid, is it possible to have part of the towing paid back? We got all proof , thanks for the reply and sorry for the bother... with your help, i will decide the real rate i want to make about Uhaul ... Thanks! I had to pay 200 extra god damn dollars to cross the stupid ferry and wouldn't refund it. All because they could find me a smaller truck like I ordered 3 weeks prior to my move date and I made it clear I needed to pick up by 730 am which was also pushed back to 930 am and screwed my moving in day because of strata bylaws and had to rush the next day and all was not brought to my attention until the night before pick up. Absolute bullshit.

I received a call approx. 2 hours prior to my pick up time to say that the location for my truck pick up had changed. I received a call from the second location approx. 30 minutes later to say that they did not have a truck available for me. The operator was less than helpful, spoke very poor english and was only able to secure a smaller van. A quick call to your HQ and I was promptly transferred to the regional office who was able to provide the 10' moving truck I needed, although the location was approx. 30 km away from my home and 2 hrs later that I originally planned. The regional representative offered a $50 refund on my bill which is helpful, although the stress and delayed pick up time meant some logistical challenges with our move (scheduling of elevators in a seniors residence etc.). I was satisfied with the response from HQ and the Vancouver regional rep. and would continue to use U-Haul, as I have done in the past. Even though I had confirmed the original reservation the day before by telephone, it was very stressful to receive a call on the morning of scheduled pick up.

The pick up location was in New Westminster, while my location was in North Vancouver. This added significant time and mileage to my move. The location itself was the repair depot and didn't have all the supplies I needed. The personnel were helpful, however.

State clearly the expectation about refilling the gas before the customer leaves. I had no experience and didn't realize until after I was back at depot what the expectation was. Having said that, this dealer waived the gas charge altogether so I was/am thrilled. Will definitely use this location next time I need to use the uhaul service!

This was the worst costumer service I have ever had. This man would not give us our truck for over an hour because he wouldn't bother to check a referral number. Then he yelled at me on the phone and told me he would charge me double because I was displeased with his service .

Originally reserved a 6x12', told the closest one in Canada is merrit. Downgrade to 6x8. All the day before I was supposed to pick up the trailer. How are you supposed to plan a move when the company you are using doesn't have their act together? Closest 6x8 trailer is in New West. Picked up the trailer from New West, brought it to Abbotsford, opened it up to discover the trailer was literally full of blood. Looks like either someone gutted an animal or murdered another human being. Such a waste of my time and fuel. Literally worst experience with any sort or service in my life. I don't even know how you are in business.

We hose this location because it was closest to our new home. It was really hard to find even when we were sitting in the parking lot. The office was really messy and unprofessional. The staff person was fine, we didn't really interact with him. The process for drop off was very quick and simple which we appreciated.

The truck had garbage in it and had a strong odor of cigarettes. I also had to drive a half hour out of my way to pick it up when I reserved a truck 5 mins away. I guess that isn't so bad as I was told the day before the only truck available was 4 hours away. Very disappointed.

This location was very accommodating to us. However, we were extremely unhappy with Uhaul as a company. We were not given the right truck, the location pick up, pick up time, or location drop-off location we requested. We will not be using Uhaul in the future.

The hours listed on the U-Haul site for Sundays were 9:30am-12:30pm. We returned the truck around 11:30am only to find it was closed. We had to do a self-return which was not ideal as this was the first time we did a U-Haul rental. The signage was poorly marked -- BMG Auto Repair is located at the end of a long strip of light industrial buildings. Parking was also problematic as the lot is filled with other large, industrial type vehicles. Our U-Haul rental was a 15 foot truck and auto transport, which was challenging to navigate and park. We ended up having to return the vehicle and auto transport parked parallel to the building with signs posted as "no parking." My calls and emails were also unanswered.

The owner did not understand the Uhaul system and charged more than written in the contract. I declined the $15 damage charge and he added it on, he charged us the estimated amount even though our completed contract stated less. The vehicle we reserved was damaged, so we ended up taking a van. I am not pleased at all and want a refund on the trumped up charges.
