The customer service at the New Windsor U-Haul is outstanding -- friendly, helpful folks who always seem happy -- perfect for customers in the throes of moving! The office is conveniently located and well-stocked with supplies. We have rented from them multiple times, and always had wonderful treatment and excellent equipment, with the equipment we reserved in advance always available on time for us, and it has always previously been well maintained and clean. This was the first time we rented a trailer (as opposed to a truck), and we found that the trailer was not quite as excellent as our usual equipment. The advance reservation system and customer service were just as excellent, however! One thing that could improve overall awesomeness would be to consider washing or wiping down the inside of the trailers -- the interior of the one we rented was very grimy. This trailer also had a small leak in the upper front driver's side corner (which we did not discover until after driving through a hard rain and unloading gear that got wet inside the trailer). Fortunately, we pack in rubber tubs and cover clothes with contractor bags so nothing was too badly hit except one part of a rolled rug, but another customer might not have been so lucky. The customer service team were very apologetic about the leak and dirt, and we assume that they sent the trailer in to repair the leak. Other than the interior dirt and the leak, the trailer performed extremely well. We really liked the roomy interior of the 5x8, which actually allowed us to move about comfortably inside doing loading and unloading. Finally, I would like to add that we have had two trailer hitches installed at the New Windsor location, and both have been absolutely successful -- the services here are great (and you can even get your propane filled!).

Sean was very helpful in setting up the trailer. He explained how to shorten the safety chains, checked to see that all of the trailer lights were working and insured all connections were solid before I pulled out.

PLEASE UP-date your website!! We needed to reserve a ten-foot truck on a Saturday evening for use the following day -- a Sunday. It took us a long time, and we were given out-dated information. The U-Haul agency given to us turned out to be no longer in existence. Fortunately, early the following morning we were given by text the correct current address, which was MUCH farther away. This greatly increased the cost of renting the truck because of the greater number of miles. Once we finally reached the U-Haul on Route 32, the service was good, the truck was in good condition, and everything was done well! I criticize your policy of refusing to deal with anyone who does not have a "smart" phone! Fortunately, my Vietnamese son was here, and we were able to have him use his phone to make the necessary arrangements. I think that you should include in your website a telephone number and office hours so that people like me who know how to use only "dumb" phones would be able to contact you. .Also, why is it that your address on Route 17K is still on your website when, possibly, it no longer exists. I know that many firms do NOT take good care of their websites! I know a good neuro-surgeon who has not updated his website for more than three years! It is very disconcerting and makes potential customers lack respect for the institution or person whose website it is! We were pleasantly surprised when the people at the office gave us very good and efficient service! They helped us to get over our dismay concerning the poor website that U-Haul still has not corrected! I hope that you will take these comments seriously! Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this unfortunate situation! Thanks to you excellent personnel in your office on Route 32 in Orange County, New York, I am now a satisfied customer!

I had a very pleasant experience. The staff was in the process of a long overdue remodeling preparation, at this location,(12553) when i visited. Original pickup was at a different location. When I got there and attempted to pick up my truck on the UHaul app, that option was not available on my phone. I called UHaul, was on hold for 40 minutes, and then told my reservation had to be transferred to a different location because the 15' truck I needed wasn't available at the original location. I was standing next to the 15' truck when they told me this. I then drove to the new location and picked up my truck,2 hours after my original appointment. If UHaul believed that the equipment I rented was not at the original location, they should have notified me before I drove there and wasted an hour trying to get the app to work and waiting on hold on my phone.

I did not like the check out process. When I picked up the truck the clerk asked me would I like to be charged to the card on file. for $84.94. I said yes. I returned the truck and the clerk doing the return said"ok your total due is $86.01 (this was after taking my mileage). When he tried to charge my credit card (the same one that was on file) it was declined. We tried 3 times and had to call my bank. So my bank viewed it as a duplicate card and blocked it. Really the only thing due was $1.07 after he "looked closer". IT was VERY embarrassing. What would have happened if I used a different card instead of the one already charged? I would have been double charged for the same contract. Unacceptable. Also, the clerk doing the check in did not know how to operate the computer system causing even more delays. I am unhappy with my visist there.

If a Customer is good enough to return the vehicle with more gas than your site filled it with initially , YOU SHOULD GIVE THE CUSTOMER A CREDIT FOR THE EXTRA GAS! Otherwise this practice constitutes unjust enrichment by UHAUL at the expense of the Customer!

I was charged 150.00 for a dent on rear of truck that I was not responsible for. I was advised to contact the New Windsor location to dispute the dent ( they may have recorded dent previously).I called at 330 pm 4/28/18 and spoke with Breeana , who said I needed to talk to a Manager,left my name and number , and never got a call.
