The truck didn't appear to be perfectly clean, and this particular location was limited in terms of the packaging supplies they carried.

side view mirror was broken and that's a problem driving! I also said I would need truck until nighttime or possibly even 24 hours, & was told I had to bring back in 4 hours.- strong language barrier - spoke very little English. "Peter" gave me an attitude It's also RIDICULOUS that u charge extra on Saturdays - I couldn't move any other day

The manager of this location was very patient and went out of his way (at a very late hour in the middle of the night) to take care of all the details of my pickup and make sure I ddin't leave without my truck. Very kind of courteous and clean location. Would definitely recommend.

I needed a truck for 5 hours, made a reservation for 5 hours, but only was given 2 and a half hours. There is a discrepancy between the website and the management at the 131st street location. The website allowed me to reserve a vehicle starting at 6:30am but the location doesn't open until 9am. I spoke with the location, uhaul reservations, and an online representative to try and resolve the issue. In the end I spent an extra two hours just trying to get the 5 hours I originally reserved and was told I'd get a callback before the time of pickup and I never did. Very poor customer service cost me time, money and prevented me from moving half of my possessions. I've rented with uhaul at least 20 times in the past and this was the most disappointing experience.

The van I reserved was given to another customer prior to my arrival. I had to settle for a larger truck and was then charged $5.00 additional. This was not handled professionally. The location is convenient, but the staff is sub-par (at best).

Location: Shell Station, Broadway & 131st St. Time: August 28th 2017 at 9:30-2pm It took the person helping people checking in over 40 minutes to process 3 people with reservations. He looked confused the whole time and/or was visibly high. I was not the only person who noticed this. When I came to return the vehicle around 2 pm he was fully asleep at the counter. It took 3-4 times of saying hello to wake him. I refilled the tank to the point where the gas pump stopped and the gas meter said full but he claimed it was only 7/8 full. He was insistent that I pay for the difference. He was rude and unprofessional. I would not use this location again if this person is working.

The pickup/drop off location was very poorly managed. Long wait in line (despite online check-in), only to be given the wrong truck, and told we had to change contracts. Drop off was even worse, charged extra for gas when I returned the truck full, and didn't see card refund (was initially charged for 8 miles and we only drove 5), with a very confusing return process. Location was convenient because of subway access, but would not use again.

Don't be in a rush if you rent from this location. We arrived at the time we requested our rental. The guy behind the desk took his time opening the account, putting paper in the printer and taking our info. He didn't care that we were about to spend the day heaving boxes. The return was much more pleasant. Quick and easy.

When I showed up to the location, no vehicle was available. Apparently, someone else made a reservation and since we were double booked, the other person got the vehicle. I don't understand how you all can ASSURE me that there will be a van reserved under my name at that location, and then not have one available. We eventually got a van of our own but we had to take the place of someone else's reservation. I'm sure they were just as mad as us when we they found out. Not okay.

The customer agent there refused to assign my reserved vehicle because I was taking the rental out of town, but returning it in town. I had already contacted customer services and agreed to pay for the additional miles. The pickup process took almost 30 mins as I had contact uhaul customer service to get her manager on line to approve the reserve rental.

The truck was available and ready, which was good. It had not been swept, however. And the service was not smoothly running or customer friendly. Also, it wasn't clear where to park the truck at the end. The office needs better organization and customer service. Even a smile and nice word would help.

My experience renting with this U-Haul location was good. However, I did not add rental insurance to my online reservation. It was added upon my arrival. I have a screenshot showing that I would be solely responsible for all damages. My online order and receipt now shows that the SafeMove insurance was included. I did not choose that option online.
