How U-Haul Reviews WorkMy U-Haul reservation was originally set at 9 am at a different location, and was changed to this location 1-2 days beforehand. This location is not an U-Haul store. Apparently the location did not open until 10 am, but my reservation was still listed at 9 am. When we showed up, there was nobody there. For some reason the door to the business was unlocked, so we went inside and looked around to see if we could track someone down. It smelled strongly of animal feces inside of the business. After not finding anyone, we called the phone number listed on the door and spoke to someone with the business who told us to check in on the U-Haul app and take the trailer. We asked if they needed to be there to check us in/pay, and they assured us it could all be done on the app. So we checked in on the app, hooked up the trailer and left. Later that day, after we had already loaded up the trailer, we get a notification that the reservation was cancelled. We tried to call the business, but nobody answered, and voicemail was full. Then we called U-Haul customer service, who told us they were unsure why the reservation was cancelled, and that we were good to leave town with the trailer. Three days later we get a call from a gentleman with U-Haul asking us why we took the trailer without checking in with staff, and that as it stood at that time, the trailer was stolen. Luckily we were able to rent it out on the phone and get everything squared away. This business is completely unprofessional, and U-Haul should not send people for reservations here without checking the hours and adjusting accordingly.
Savanna GThe location and set up was a concern. The WiFi was extremely slow and resulted in delays with picking up my rental. The building layout itself was confusing. If I had been there alone, I would’ve felt unsafe.
Samantha BI was very upset I had to pick up the rental a day earlier and an hour away from Bloomington where I had booked my reservation for. Booked reservation over a month ahead of time. We were on a tight window for the 30th to move so had no choice but to pick up a day earlier. Then this screwed us on the return which was another issue. Because picked up I day earlier I had to have it back a day earlier and thus had to unload it in the rain to get in back on time. In addition when they called to tell me i couldn't pick up in Bloomington and he changed the reservation I was driving and asked multiple times if the dro offlocatiob eas the same. He said it was. He LIED. I had to take it further away and to a place that was closed. I had chosen the location for the return on my initial reservation because it was close and they were open. I don't appreciate how your employees switch things to where they want and lie about it on top of it. You need to really fix your customer service.
