Best service of all the uhaul I’ve ever used !!!!

I reserved a 5x9 trailer to transport my motorcycle one way from Thousand Oaks, CA to Plano, TX. U-Haul made me drive 61 miles each way (122 miles round trip) to pick up the trailer in Palmdale, CA when there was a U-Haul very close to me in Agoura Hills, CA where this same trailer was sitting in the lot. Don’t argue this point again U-Haul because I confirmed the availability at the Agoura Hills location. I contested the pick up location but U-Haul refused to rent me a trailer from any location other than Palmdale. I was desperate for a trailer and had no choice so I accepted the pickup location in Palmdale. After driving 61 miles to Palmdale, CA to pickup the trailer I realized why U-Haul made me rent it from Palmdale instead of Agoura Hills. It was because the trailer was registered in Texas. This is unsatisfactory and served to meet U-Haul’s needs as opposed to mine, the customer. As a result of this, I will never rent a trailer or anything else from U-Haul ever again. What a self-serving organization U-Haul is. U-Haul should have given me a significant discount for this deal because I did them a favor returning their trailer to Texas for them. However, they did not. Instead, they tried to charge me an extra day and made me return the trailer to their location in Carrollton, TX instead near my destination in Plano, TX because they wanted the trailer in Carrollton. More about this below in the return comments. I rented the trailer by calling U-Haul’s central reservation number. The representative on the phone was clueless about U-Haul locations. All they wanted was a credit card number. Several times as I was talking through my needs the representative asked for a credit card number. I knew at this point they were going to get everything they could out of me, but again, I was desperate and needed a trailer. They totally took advantage of that fact. U-Haul is not a customer centric organization. They only want money and will take every advantage of their customers to get it.

When I picked the truck and tow dolly up I did not check the lights on the dolly, and while on the road, a man in a car that was behind me stopped me and told me that I didn't have any brake or turn signal lights on the driver's side of the tow dolly. The truck's lights were working, but not the dollies. It is likely a hazard for me, as well as those around me to have dysfunctional lights on the dolly as those are conceivably the only lights that may be seen by other drivers depending on conditions, so it seems that it should have been checked by the store to ensure that all of the lights were indeed functional and that there would be no hazards associated with the use of the truck/dolly combination other than those that are normal. That having been said, they worked very well and although I had a successful journey, I was nervous and aware of that problem all the while I used them. I do think that it should be incumbent upon the providers to ensure that they have functional equipment in all respects and not have their customers discover that there is a problem down the road. I know that not all problems can be foretold, but this one certainly could have with a simple observation.

Very friendly staff. From the second we walk in we feel welcomed and are greeted by the Staff. Thanks David Jr. Christy, David, Zach, and Joe.

The location itself was below standard but the customer service was excellent! It was refreshing compared to what i experienced at Altadena.

The location in Palmdale is dirty, looks like an abandoned property, bad work environment for the employees, so I recommend you to clean it up properly and make it look neat and well organized. Thanks

Best UHaul experience!

Couldn't make my pick up time due to my work commitment. Called them up, made a later arrangement, and most helpful.

No improvement is needed. I have rented from DCF numerous times and every time has been a good experience.

Place of business was pleasant to deal with. However, UHaul sent me many extra miles out of the way needlessly to pickup the vehicle, which caused a long delay in my furniture loading. Truck assigned by UHaul had several check engine/ abs/ loose gas cap icons show up on the dash but truck ran fine. Extra mileage was comped by UHaul.

Pleasant experience. Staff were nice and professional.

It would be great if the open trailers could be used on one way trips . Other than that the move and equipment was great !!!

Everything was great. Just keep doing what you're doing. Friendly and courteous service is always a winner. Thanks for your help.

let me know that when I rent a truck with a trailer it does not come with a hitch.

The pickup truck was filthy dirty. I had to wash it before I could use it. I notified the clerk when I returned it. His response was "they" are supposed to clean it before renting. At the very least they should have provided me with a discount.

the tire hold down tire straps were dirty, I was hauling a 1948 packard with 4in white wall tires and when we unloaded our car both of them were covered with grease. I did not appreciate that I was told to pick up the trailer in Palmdale from Castaic took me 45 min. to get there from canyon country also i had to pay a drop off fee to leave it in canyon country that was unexpected. .
