The vehicle’s gas gauge was incorrect from the paperwork and when I noticed and return the office was closed. I was out $30 for gas that I didn’t use. The paperwork had 5/8 and the actual gas gauge was under 1/2!

My only complaint—and this was a fairly large headache—is that the self-service pick-up process just isn't streamlined yet. My pick-up time was 12:30pm, I arrived at 12:25pm. I followed the instructions to login to the Uhaul site, where I was forced to create an account (with no option to pick up equipment without one). This took several minutes. Once set up, I tried to begin the equipment pick-up process, but was told my location services on my phone weren't active. They were, but I checked to be sure they were, and... they were. I called the 800 number on the screen for assistance and was on hold for over 10 minutes. In a hot parking lot. Late for things. Listening to a looped recording inviting me to leave a review, but with no indication that a person might eventually pick up the phone. Finally I was connected with a helpful customer service rep who explained that the reason my pick-up attempt failed had to do with my being later than 12:30 (heh). She reset my reservation for 1pm, and had me download the Uhaul app (since I only rent a truck every two years or so, this was an annoying step to also be forced to take). But, she was great, and stayed on the line while I went through the process. I finally drove the truck away at 1:15 or so. I understand it's the norm these days to increase conversions by any means necessary, but when that obviously becomes more important to the company than actually providing a smooth experience for their service, there's a cart in front of that horse. I didn't save any money over the usual rental fees, and yet I provided 45 minutes of the labor my money used to pay for. NOt really worth it.

The cost of my rental was about $5k US 1- I had to wash the inside cabin including the seats because it was covered with splashed soda. 2. After unloading my belongings, we discovered some family pictures were damaged due to water. We were not advised that the cabin has cracks / damages and water is leaking into the truck . Why would you rent truck for a trip that is over 2,700 miles knowing that water leaks into the cabin.

The pick up truck was not clean and I was given an incorrect contract for mileage and the amount of gas in the pickup. I did not recognize this error until I was on the road and called repeatedly to the office. My call was never returned and i made a special trip to the office on Sat. AM to talk with the agent and she was very busy I had to be to work and could not wait for the 5 customers she had in line. I left a copy of the contract and asked the agent to call me so we could go over the error. I still have not received a call back. This location is very near our home so yes I would refer the locatin with caution to look ovr every aspect of the rental.

I reserved a trailer at the Lincoln Ave., Altadena store and when I got there, they made me go across town to the Pasadena store, which irritated me. I specifically made a point when I reserved on the phone saying I needed to be sure it was there when I arrived since we were coming from out of state. Of course, it wasn't there!!! I wish that UHaul would improve their reservation process. I run into this EVERY SINGLE time I rent from UHaul. We actually switched to Budget Rentals for renting trucks as a result, but you had us over a barrel this time since only Uhaul rents trailers. How hard would it have been to move the trailer to the other store as reserved since they know the town? And to top it off, the Lincoln Ave., Altadena store personnel were very rude to us and couldn't even tell us how to get to the Pasadena store and wouldn't even look it up for us. I walked out upset and mad that I was forced to use UHaul again due to the trailer need. The two working the Pasadena store were incredibly nice, on the other hand, and had the trailer ready for us, even calling us to be sure we were still coming (we were late due to the change in locations and not knowing Pasadena, and a torn up freeway detouring) instead of renting it out from under us. I was very impressed with that. A little thoughtful CUSTOMER SERVICE on their part went a long way for me. Both the lady at the desk and the young man hooking up the trailer were great. Perhaps little training at hooking up the trailer would have been good for the young man, however, since we had to redo it at our pickup spot since it wasn't entirely mounted correctly and jerked around when driving. He was very nice though and helpful.

This location does not keep regular business hours. According to Uhaul website, it opens at 8:15, but I got there and no one came until 9, the rep insisted that they opened at 9. Another time, I talked to them about picking up a truck around 2:30. I showed up at 3 pm and they were closed, even though Uhaul website says they close at 3:30. Most frustrating/ telling of all is that their office does not post their business hours. It appears they come and go as they choose.

Dirty truck. Pretzels were stuck inside the defroster. The truck was hard to handle. Had to turn all the way to the left to go straight back. Very uncomfortable ride.

The location in Pasadena was great, but the whole experience with Uhaul in general was HORRIBLE. I originally scheduled the pickup of a trailer near my house. No one called me to confirm, so the day before my pickup I called the location... They said they don't have trailers there and for me to call the scheduling department. So I called, and they said they should call me by 6pm that day. Well I missed the call that day and no one left a voicemail or sent an email, text... Nothing. The next day (morning of my move) I called the uhaul location near my house to see if the trailer is there. It wasn't! I called the scheduling dept and asked them where is the trailer.. They said it's at a location about 40 miles away from my house. So I call that location, they said they don't have a trailer and it's at the Pasadena location.. About 70 miles from my house. This is all happening the morning of my move. So I had to drive over 140 miles (round-trip) just to pick up a trailer. Uhaul said I would get a $50 credit for my troubles and the lack of communication. The credit was never applied to my account. Such a disappointment and unorganized experience. The lady in the scheduling dept was extremely rude and never tried to help me figure out a solution! She was basically like.. You have to drive to Pasadena if you want the trailer. Not apologetic or willing to offer anything. The whole experience was extremely frustrating and simply unacceptable.

The paperwork indicated that the gas tank was 1/2 full when it was only 1/4 full. I didn’t notice until after I left the rental facility. I only drove 15 miles as shown by the receipt and I put $8.50 of gas in the tank before returning the truck. I have the receipt. I was charged a additional $14.25 for gas by the rental facility. I therefore request that the $14.25 be credited back to my credit card. Thank you Robert 818-800-2889

The person at this location was alone, when I arrived there was one person ahead of me, shortly after 2 persons arrived, when she attached the trailer To my hitch she only placed on, when I pulled out of the lot was one block away, the trailer came off, the only reason I didn’t loose it was because of the chaines. It was a very scary experience



They were very helpful and personable. Unfortunately I was given some bad information about the flexibility I had in dropping off the vehicle that complicated that process. I was told I could decide to make it a one-way rental at any time and drop it off at any U-Haul location and the contract could easily be adjusted. That was bad information.
