The person working there was terrible . He had a bad attitude and shouldn't be working with the public . I'll never go back there and never recommend this place to anyone else. There's too many options in Payson to be treated like you will be here.
Your overall reservation system needs improvement. After reserving a truck online, I received an email stating someone would confirm my reservation during the next 36 hrs. No one ever called. When I called the local dealer, they didn't even have my reservation. Eventually, someone on the customer service line said - we don't confirm truck until 24-48 hrs out since we won't know if a truck is really available. She did say I should be fine since another u-haul location 10-15 minutes away has trucks. Really - it's amazing u-haul is still around with that kind of service. Mark at the Tonto location was a huge improvement over talking to anyone at the 800 customer service line. U-haul is lucky to have him.
U haul offers 1 month free storage on 1 way rental. This was not available, because there was no storage available. Thanks for the great customer service.

I had no blankets I had ordered. It may not have been the fault of the person there other than not making sure all items were in place before I picked up the UHaul. I had to run around looking for blanket covers myself which was not what I contracted for.
The online checkout was annoying as I was already driving and got mostly out of cell phone range. Gave up on calling the 800 Go Uhaul number as no one answered in a timely manner.
I had no problems with the truck and the people were very nice at both pick up and drop off. The trucks need cruise control and are not as nice as the Peneske truck. The online site was terrible. Hard to use, doubles the rent of the trailer once I added insurance so had to go back to rental and let them redo it as it would not let me cancel. It just made a second reservation.
We had a feeling that it would be a tough move, right from the start. When we got into the truck, the gas gauge read 5/8 of a tank, but the paperwork and the clerk said it was 3/4 of a tank. Instead of changing the paperwork, the clerk just wrote on our copy, and with gas prices what they are today, it was not a good start. The truck was filthy, and when we got home, the pads were dirty and smelled. The truck had over 124,000 miles on it, and during too many stretches, it stayed in overdrive too long. The engine also had a whine and we could hear metal grinding from time to time, that made the 1000 mile trip painful, and we could only hope we would make it to our new home. We also hit some rain on our journey, and some water got into the truck and damaged some items. For the next customer, give them a newer truck, and clean pads, especially if the trip is over 15 hours.

Was a great experience, Mark and his assistant got me in and out very quickly and when I dropped off the trailer I never even had to exit my vehicle. GREAT SERVICE!!

Not much to say really. The whole experience was a nightmare.
Awful experience! I was overcharged and I am very upset! Very unorganized as well. The drop off location is awful and nothing like the others. Typically you take pictures of all to show it was maintained, cleaned out, odometer is true and gas correct, etc. I put a little over on gas of when I received it, I swept out the WHOLE truck and made sure very clean, and I even put some boxes in to donate (as states you can). I was charged a $25 cleaning fee after all of this an additional $14 for the insurance thing that I had already paid the day prior. I had it few extra hours and understood the extra day...the rest is absolutely absurd and I will NEVER use U-HAUL again now, I will stick with Budget. I am so disappointed with all and hope it gets corrected.
The rubber strips are coming off of the inside wood strips. The door is very heavy and difficult to close all of the way. When being pulled up can get away from you. Once it went above the top rim and it was soooo hard to bring it back down. I almost had to call the emergency number but it was 3:00 in the morning. I continued to experiment with it to prevent that from happening again and found the lock has to be clamped in the open position to prevent it from getting stuck. Learn something new every day.

The truck needs to be serviced. Hard to drive when engine in slow to react. Hard to climb in and out of.
Quit letting this Covid crap control the way you work with the public. Remove the plastic shields and let people be people.

Equipment was fine but the gentleman who handled the transaction was awful. He made motions of being frustrated, not eager to help, poor customer service, didn't explain ANYTHING about the equipment, his answers were short and snippy, never did find the USB port to charge our phones. He seemed miserable. Will not recommend this location.
