Make sure to explain where to drop equipment off when returning. Some may try to park it where they picked it up, making your rep walk way out to check back in. Overall Cody was fabulous and went through process fast and was very friendly

The only negative about my experience was the rolling door would stick about 3 inches into raising it about the time you were putting all your force into opening it yanking you back down. Also not having side mirrors that adjust with a knob or button is very inconvenient when moving alone and having to get in an out of the cab until you get the angle right

Get the staff a golfcart or something. Those trailers are a long ways from the front of the building.

Head lights did not work good on regular beam. They pointed out to sides Could not see in front of you. Had to stop our trip early to get a place to stay. Because of head lights

I paid in advance with my debit card as I did before in the past with no issue, yet this time I get a call from an employee claiming I need to come in and pay even though the money already had left my account for this purchase and I had a receipt that differed from the one she showed me upon my arrival, the receipt I recieved via email shows I paid my full amount, and the receipt she showed me claimed I paid zero, honestly a waste of my time.

We checked out trailer on Friday 4:41pm, had it back by 4:21pm on Saturday. They insisted on charging me for two days. That's dishonesty. Won't go there again

To anyone moving now or in the future: I would not recommend U-haul, and DO NOT use the website they recommend or any of the movers on there, especially TLC Pros. TJ and I hired movers for October 21st for a couple hours. gives you a payment code to give the movers when the job is complete, so the movers can get paid. The movers never showed. And unknowingly while waiting for the movers to arrive on that day, I received an email that the movers had been paid. When no one showed up and no one was given the payment code. TLC Pros told me someone was on their way, and when no one showed up they eventually stopped answering my phone calls. A day later they said they were refunding me, but I never received it. I complained to U-Haul, they told me they’d get my money back and that would be refunding me next week and to call them if they don’t. U-haul also talked to TLC Pros who said they refunded me and was responsible for my refund at this point. Today I called since I still haven’t been refunded and U-haul contacted again, and informed me that cannot refund me since the movers were already paid, and I have to work it out with TLC Pros and no one can do anything. So basically my money was stolen and everyone wants to point fingers at one another. The only local address I was given for TLC Pros is a PO Box, so I cant even just show up anywhere. If you look online under the reviews for TLC at, I am not the only person this has happened to, I didn’t see these reviews until after everything happened. It says a lot about U-haul that they continue to work with these companies when they are scamming people. I’d hire a lawyer but I’m only out 120$, so I’d just lose more money in the process. I’ve accepted my money is gone, but I wanted to share this so hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Customer service was OUTSTANDING!!!! We checked with other U-Haul locations closer to where we were working and they would NOT return calls/emails to us or give rental estimate. Owner said he was too busy. This Pekin location bent over backwards to help us. We will definitely do business with this location again and tell all our friends!

I understand trailers have chance of being damaged before rental but having consistent updated trailers with weight sticker and enough D rings to properly secure belongings with straps at different heights. Also would really recommend updating insurance making able to cover more of trailer instead of just damage to people’s property. I’m sure more people would be apt to pay for insurance.

The woman working the counter was very nice, but she needed additional training. It took me 45 minutes to try and return the car and it was nightmare to deal with. It kept erroring out. I finally gave up dropped the key in the drop box and called customer care to have them notate the account. Car was amazing but the whole experience was frustrating.

I received a call from springfield to verify my rental-the lady (Patty) who i talked to was not very customer friendly. I then received less then hour later a call from Pekin location another call to verify my rental. I asked why i received two calls and it was stated that the pickup place is usually who calls and they were not sure why springfield office had called. Otherwise to whole experience was very good
