U-Haul switched me to a different location from my original drop off location I had selected. I booked a u haul store location so that my drop off would be fast and easy with the help of a representative. However, you at U-Haul rebooked me a drop off location and at the time of the change it was not mentioned that this was a third party location with no representative to help me. Firstly, the name of the location and the address did not match. Therefore I had to call your team to confirm the location as the name of the company on google did not match the address listed. The name of the car business has since changed on google maps which added confusion. Secondly, the process was not at all seamless. It was not clear where to park the vehicle as it was a car repair lot with no other uhauls at all. Additionally since it was a third party place I did not have a representative help me like I had planned with my initial booking. So as I now had to do the return all myself, with the online booking I also faced issues as my location was not turned on for safari and the help button suggestions on your website were not solving my problem. Then when I clicked that my location was not working the website took me to some vague page with no way to upload photos, it simply showed me written steps and then told me to return my key. Not uploading pictures and dropping off the keys with no record didn’t seem right to me so I then decided again to call your company. The workers were helpful on the phone. But again this was supposed to be a fast drop off process but instead was full of confusion. Additionally as a young female I felt uncomfortable as the drop off lot was behind a building in a car repair shop’s fenced in back lot. Shielded from view of the Main Street I did not feel as safe. Drop off locations should be in front lots not secluded back lots. Again I booked my original location for a safe, easy drop off and was disheartened by the change your team made to a third party drop off location as it took much more time to drop off than anticipated after all this. You need to inform your customers when you make such changes that it will have to be self return at these locations. I wasn’t informed that instead of representative supported return I would have to do it myself when I agreed to a change in drop offf location, had I know I would’ve worked with your team to choose a better option for me and not had this situation occur.
Mark CThe person was not at the location. I was told to drop the truck in the back of the location and drop the key in a drop box. I Was also told I’d get a receipt in about 30 minutes after dropping off the truck. I did not receive a receipt until almost 4 hours later. With the receipt I still owed gas money somehow and now I’m being charged an extra $30 for something I was told not to do by an employee at a different location. Plus I’m not getting reimbursed for the days I did not use for the truck. Over the phone he was unprofessional and answered the phone with a pause then just a hello. The second time I called I had to ask for directions because there is no name on the building and the address is barley noticeable and the U-Haul sign that hangs in a glass door is no bigger than a license plate. I had to call 3 times for him to not be at the location and to hand me a receipt.
Chantale HI was picking up and felt scared to be there. My Uber driver could t find the haul sign and it wasn’t well marked. The place was closed and there were scary people hanging around and I had to keep getting my wallet out to give credit card info and rovers license info and it wasn’t a place I really wanted to be doing this as a woman. The truck was filthy and didn’t run very well. We were afraid we weren’t going to make it to our destination. There was food all over the inside of the truck and it was filthy.
