To start, I was credited 25 miles because the location I originally reserved from didn’t have the 26 foot truck I reserved. Which was a hassle to drive further than what I wanted, but the mileage reimbursement made up for it. The receptionist/clerk was a gentleman who’s name I can’t recall, but was friendly and welcoming with info to handle the 26 footer I rented. Great service.

My reserved equipment was not available. I was offered a larger trailer instead of the one i reserved. This larger trailer was much heavier and cost significantly more fuel to tow. In the end the increase in fuel costs more than doubled my total rental cost. This was an unplanned expense that disrupted this project budget

U-Haul should update procedure to have the truck gas filled full at each rental like the rental car business. I have found that it is inconvenience with a half or even 1/8 tank gas at checking out a truck. I made the same suggestion to the local manager. At the latest rent, I happened to get a truck with full tank of gas. It saved me a lot of time and money because I always fill more gas that I used.

I had reserve a 16 foot truck. I got the 26 foot truck. I was reluctant to do this but had not choice as I needed to move. the person who was supposed to return the 16 foot truck didn't. I ended up hitting the truck in a narrow area in my apartment complex, the damage will cost me thousands of dollars. I cant help but to think this could have been avoided if I only got the truck I asked for.

Tank looks like not full, so ended up paying more price for gas. just for 38 miles, i have filled 10 Gallaons, even i told the same concern to Uhal guys, but they are also not sure.

I was charged for a furniture dolly that was never put in the truck and I did not need and I was charged for fuel when I returned the truck with the same amount of gas I used. I went 15 miles, added 1.5 gallon of file assuming about 10 miles to the gallon and was subequenly charged 4 gallons of fuel which means that at their charge the truck would have only gotten 4 miles to the gallon on a local flat road with about 5 stop lights to destination and back. It’s shaddy for them to check the truck in tell me we are good to go then after the fact INCREASE my bill and add fuel charges. And to know how shady it is 4 gallons on a 15 mile voyage makes zero sense. They should not do this to customers and clear the bill or work thru the return before they say everything is in good order. Rental car companies don’t let you walk away until you are certain you both agree on the bill. Terrible process Uhaul has and a shaddy way to sneak in a fuel charge.

I was told the location was open until 8 pm - I got there at 7:05 - it was closed but an employee leaving gave me a lot of help. I called 800 number and was able to drop the trailer!! Thanks

Well if you return the truck a day early you should not be charged for the day you did not use the truck. That is a rip off! I was over charged ! Total ripoff!!

I booked the rental trailer on line and requested a 700 pick up. I was given one location, originally a location in Livermore. When I arrived to pick up the trailer, I was told that the reservation location changed to another location in Livermore. When I got to the other location, they did not have the trailer and wad hoping to have it by late morning. I returned to the original location and they were able to call other locations and found the trailer I needed at the Pleasanton location. Once, I got there, Marrissa was fantastic getting my on line rental changed to their location. But the on line rental system where you are given one location and then changes is horrible. If not for some great customer service at two locations, this experience wad less then desirable.
