I initially had a problem with the reservation when, the day of the pick up, the location was listed as Pleasanton instead of Livermore as I had requested. I called and was told that they did not have the 10' truck in Livermore and I would have to pick it up in Pleasanton. The reservation was for 5 pm and since I had to work until 5pm, in Livermore, I asked if my husband could pick up the truck at 1pm. They said that would be fine but that I should pre-pay for the reservation which was fine with me. The original reservation was for 2days and 416 miles for $99 as I was moving my daughter to Chico and bringing the truck back. They gave me an extra 25 miles as the location was changing. As I was calling to pay I double checked the reservation and noticed that it had changed from having to return the truck on Sunday to having it for 1day 23hours and having to return it on Saturday. I spoke with no less than 6 people trying to find out why picking up the truck 4hours early lost me a full day. The scheduling department had it as returning on Sunday but no one else did and I was told that if I didn't return the truck by noon on Saturday I would pay extra. Rather than chancing that I changed the reservation to 6pm however it still said 1day 23hours and to be returned on Saturday, which had been my original intention but, having the extra time was a cushion that, as it turned out, I needed. At this point I was very frustrated. When I arrived at the Pleasanton location to pick up the truck I was greeted by Deanna Montoya. I explained what had happened and she could not have been more helpful. She gave me an additional 25 miles and two more days free of charge. I can't say enough, how helpful kind and considerate she was. I work in customer service and so appreciate when I run into someone with the same customer service ethic I strive for. After arriving home with the truck I received a text message informing me I could drop the truck off in Livermore when I returned. Deanna went above and beyond and I am very thankful she was working that evening.

Booked 1 way to Sacramento, 2 weeks prior to needing truck. 5pm day I needed truck, they tell me only have in town truck, but u have to bring it back 109 miles to return. If u dont 300 dollar dropoff fee, if you drop in Sacramento . U haul mistake I have to Pay. Not good

The truck was beat up. I wouldn't have rented this truck to anyone in the condition it is in. If I would have had a choice to go somewhere else for a decent truck I would have but I was pressed for time.

Here's the deal with U-haul. There has always been a shortage of trucks and its gotten so bad now that no guarantees can be made. Higher level management must consider reinvesting in 20 and 26 foot truck which will appreciate the value and revenue of U-haul by 30% if do correctly across at least California. Also the strategy of truck management from location to location must be managed better where trucks going to a location and trucks going from a location are constantly rotated. This is a logistical issue that requires business analysis which I am. I like U-haul and there is huge potential to make this company even better.

Uhaul on Sunol Blvd, Pleasanton has been very convenient for me since I live 1 mile from their location. The facility is clean and I would say bug/mice/rat free which was a BIG concern for me when I stored my furniture there almost 2 years ago, I never visited the place until 2 yrs later, fearing what I might see when I opened my storage. I was pleasantly surprised! 2 yrs ago I hired a moving co. to move/store my furniture. The moving co. shrink rapped my furniture belongings and attached the screws to the furniture they belonged to appropriately...so today, 2 years later, it was so easy to put my belongings together. Choose your storage and moving company wisely.
