My boyfriend and I were ready to go pick up our U-Haul, which he had intended to drive, to take the remaining items from our apartment out. When trying to get the keys they said he had an outstanding balance of $174 and change. They had a reservation from nearly a year ago with someone else’s name associated to his account whom he didn’t know!!!! Not only were we confused because we believed there had to have been a card of file for said person who impersonated his license to pay before they would even allow him to pick it up…. Kinda like the requirements we had to show them today (so it’s not like the system changed). so how is it that this person, Who’s reservation was under my boyfriends license number, able to rent under his name? Did we not check for an id? What about the verification of credit card on file? Should u have one to charge just in case? And why hadn’t I been contacted previously about this? Had I known sooner… maybe WHEN IT HAPPENED!!! Then I could’ve very quickly distinguished that it wasn’t in fact me, and someone messed up on your end. Anyways, I’m not upset with the staff, they were all well mannered and understanding. I’m upset that we still had to pay $50 in fees for someone else’s reservation that we didn’t even know. In addition to that, we had our reservation for 8am, we didn’t get it until around 3/330pm. My stuff was supposed to be packed up and brought back within a quarter of the time I planned out for.
