There was no indication, at least that I could see, that no one would be on premises and that I would have to use the app. When I called in, the U-Haul rep seemed surprised that this was the case. I had to download the app and use at that location. But cell service is very bad there and your app is very arduous to use. (I am a professional software developer, and I am a good judge of that.) My phone eventually ran out of power so I had to return home to get an external power source. On returning, I barely got to the point where I could get the keys before the app just froze, probably due to bad cell service. The vehicle was fine although the side mirrors on both sides had to be adjusted every few miles. On returning, the app difficulties continued, and I was unable to complete that process. Finally, the power ran out, and I just put the keys back in the lock box. Overall, I lost almost 2 hours due to these problems which turned what should have been a simple pickup into an ordeal.

It was not communicated that the order would be a mobile pick up. The pick up process was very difficult due to bad cell service annd unclear instructions and no one answered the phone for help when called. The truck was dirty. And the return process was extremely confusing given wrong order of action statements on the app.

HERNANDARIO MGo back to having an actual U-Haul office with human staff that can be there and help you through the process start to finish. Enough with services provided by or thru apps and robots. I want human beings in U-Haul shirts present on site saying, “welcome to U-Haul.” The way you guys do it makes me NOT want to use the service because it makes me feel like you care more about the bottom line than the customer. The customer is more important than the investors.
Daniel DConvenient location but the remote check in steps are cumbersome and the parking lot is in a run down location. We had trouble getting the key - took two tries. The endless photographing of each part of the van is tedious….
