Staff did best to help, but simple technology such as credit/debit card readers were *incredibly* inefficient. They don't take chip cards (which most businesses use as a default!) but also *require* a "swipe" rather than allowing card numbers to be punched in. My magnetic strip is slightly worn, but still works at 99% of businesses. UHaul's machines didn't take two different cards and staff weren't allowed to just key in digits. The only reason I was able to get the van was because I had a co-passenger who had a card of her own. Otherwise not sure what I would have been able to do. Please update your technology and practices.

Checkin was ridiculously slow - the online checkin didn't work at all and then I had to stand there for a half hour while they waited on two or three customers ahead of me. When I finally got the van, it smelled terribly of cigarettes. Given that I was moving cloth furniture, this was especially disgusting.

The truck was having issues. It took an extra few hours to get back from my camp. The person I hired to help to move flooring had to keep pulling over. We called your service department in the morning to let them know we was having troubles and your phones had been down. I had to pay extra for my worker because of your vehicle did not work correctly. This vehicle only had less than 100,000 . I asked the rep before I left if the vehicle in good working condition and he said yes. Boy was he wrong. Deb

I'm always surprised that, even though I have an account and always have a reservation and have checked in online, once I'm at the pickup counter, the associate always has to click through a lot of screens and type in a lot of information and I'm at the counter for a what feels like way too long. You might want to consider hiring a new IT consultant.

I had originally made a reservation at the Uhaul location in Biddeford Maine. I never received a confirmation call for my reservation and the server was down. They also put me down for the wrong date. I then went to the Saco Maine location and made a reservation which I needed to correct multiple times. I requested a 5'8' trailer and they put me down for a 6'12' trailer which I was told my vehicle could not safely tow. After this was corrected, it was confirmed I would get a 5'8' trailer on the day of pickup. I showed up at the designated time and they told me there were no 5'8' trailers at this location. My trip was delayed because of this and I was forced to go to the Portland location. The Portland location, thankfully was able to give me what I had originally needed but it should not have taken this many tries. I am highly disappointed with the service and miscommunication within this company.

Long wait time to be serviced, 15 minutes or so to get to the counter. The staff was extremely polite, helpful and apologetic to the wait time.

The employees were so rude!!!!! We use you guys 4 times a year. We always do the same plan every time and this time the man yelled at me when I asked a question. When I called the lady hung up the phone. Our company will never use them again!!

This location is horrendous!- always under-staffed with computer issues. I waited 45+ minutes to get my pick-up truck day rental DESPITE trying to speed things up with the on-line pick-up service (which I registered for based on prior experiences). The computer system is unreliable and often "on the fritz". I use this location 2 times a year and have experienced very long wait times consistently. The staff is nice enough.

Check that your trucks have the same amount of fuel as you mention in the contract so that you don't end up charging for EZ fuel unnecessarily.

My previous experiences with this location were great, and I found the personnel pleasant and helpful, but this time the van had an unpleasant, unclean smell, although it looked fine. It was not pulled up to the office as on previous occasions, and was not where they told me to find it, they had to hunt for it, putting me back a good 20 minutes

Your employees that I've interacted have all been very pleasant and helpful. If I was to suggest any improvements it would be to have two people at your counter, and a separate employee out back to help w / trailer hook ups. I get the sense w/one person at the counter, that they're always running around trying to help your customers,. and they're spread to thin to be effective for more than one customer at a time. Despite this concern, I was very satisfied w/ my rental experience and plan to use this location in the future.

I would not recommend U-HAUL to anybody. It was OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE. DO NOT RENT FROM U-HAUL. Check out the competitors. Budget has better prices.

Long line of trucks when I came to drop off. Was directed to a parking spot by an employee who just happened to drop by. I entered the reception area and while standing in line was told by an employee who announced to the crowd that anyone who was dropping off a truck could leave the keys in the vehicle and leave. So I did.
