I waited for a half an hour for my truck, it had short white animal hair EVERYWHERE. The worst part of my experience so far has been the return. First, I turned my vehicle in around 9:30, an hour before it was due and they marked it returned at 11:44 charging me another day. If that were not bad enough...they charged me for the additional day and proceeded to send me a receipt saying one price and then charging me even MORE then the receipt price. Customer service has been no help and awful. I will NEVER use Uhaul again.

I was over changed. I reserved a Dolly and they didn't have any when I picked up my reservation. I had to go to another location to rent a dolly.



The only problem we had was the gas. We filled it to the exact location the needle was on when we left and it matched the paperwork. When checked in he said there wasn’t enough gas in it according to his phone app. Maybe the gas gage was off but there is now way to prove that. My suggestion is to keep the tank on full so the client can return it on full! Doesn’t make much since if client is going by the needle on the gas gage but the uhaul company is not.

This location here scored well. But the biggest complaint is that I visited and had a confirmation for the location on Spring Hill Road in Tyson’s. So I initially went there—no one answered the phone, doors locked and lights out. Not the first time the Spring Hill location seems to only be open one hour a year. Had I not gotten a text this morning to come to the north shore location—I would still be sitting in the dark on Spring Hill Road.

The truck drop off was frustrating. Points for general improvement: I would like to have been informed that the drop off location was closing two hours after I picked up the truck on a one-way rental. Perhaps the facility I picked up the truck from should have ensured I understood this point. I was told by u-haul to be at the drop-off location before 10:00PM. When I arrived at 9:40PM, the drop off location did not accept after hour drop off's and had a sign on the chain link fence stating a $150 fine would be charged for any trucks left after business hours, further it was not until this time I discovered the facility had closed at noon. Frustrating! I had a flight to catch the next day and I needed to turn the truck in. I contacted U-chat in the middle of the night and they provided the 703-497-1882 TRAFFIC phone number. At 7:20 AM, I contacted JoAnne at Traffic and explained the situation things immediately began to improve! The drop off location was changed to a facility closer by, and Michael at the new drop off location 11410 N Shore Drive in Reston, VA was an excellent help as well. I found both JoAnne & Michael straight forward and problem solvers who listened and provided solutions. (Much praise to them both!) Later, when I reviewed the bill I discovered I was not charged for the truck rental. This was both unexpected and appreciated. This was the game changer, that will keep me a loyal u-haul customer. Thank You! The "Traffic" service and the Reston, VA facility are both highly recommended as a 5 Star service!

The location was great. Was very easy to rent and return. However, the air conditioning in the truck didn't work at all. It just blew hot air. The U-Haul Web site claims that the trucks have 'air conditioning' so I feel that we did not get what we paid for.

The manager had my car TOWED before I could come back with my wife to drive my car off his lot. And then HE LIED about calling a tow truck. (seriously??!!) There were NO no parking signs where I parked, but were elsewhere. Another way for him to make a few kick-back dollars. 9-1-1 was on to him, too.

I rented a 1995 a day and was told that it was cheaper to rent it a one way and that the miles didn't count my credit card just got charged another $26 for over mileage that was not authorized then they called me after I returned the truck and asked me if I had any intentions of returning the truck I don't know where Uhaul finds their employees their polite but they don't know what they're doing.
