After I ordered online and selected my favorite location, the pick up location changed. This must have been because the location did not have what I needed in stock, but I wish there was a better way for uhaul to choose a location right for the customer. For example, I am up in Round Rock moving from Austin, and the RR location did not have what I needed so it diverted me to a Georgetown location instead of something actually on the way. I feel like entering in your destination would help uhaul get a better feel for what the customer will need. Also, when I got to my "preferred location" (the location off 110, limmer loop location up in Round Rock), the manager was not at the location and seemed to be too busy to come by. He said he did not have anything in stock, but there were about 10 trailers in the back. After that he asked if there was anyone with us that knew how to hook up a trailer. That is a very dangerous thing to have the customer try to hook up themselves and to drive off without any paperwork. Other than that, the location I ended up at was actually on the way and the workers were really nice and helpful.

This is not about the locations... I had a horrible u-haul experience. I was only given 30 miles and had an extra 10 or 20 added on because I had to go to a different location to get my truck, then my boxes and packing materials. The entire trip I needed to travel was ~170 miles. I've rented many u-hauls in the past and never had an issue with having 150 miles as my "default" mileage. I called customer service, and the lady on the line was wonderful and tried her best to help me with my issue but told me she was yelled at by the person she asked for help. I felt like I would be getting someone else in trouble had I needed to call back, so I just kept my 50 miles and paid for the mileage.

The truck was clean, pick up and drop off went well, but the transmission on the truck was very bad. It was scary a few times trying to put the truck in reverse. It wouldn't go from drive to reverse. We had to put it in park and then reverse.

The initial contact at site was friendly and the checkout appeared to be going well. Then it goes downhill from there. I had a feeling we should have cancelled at that point but we been there before and I thought this was going work out ok. Unfortunately the associate checking us out did not know what he was doing. He first assigned us a vehicle with very little fuel, then he could not explain the contract details intelligently. It was as if he had no idea what each itemized line item was for. Not sure if the same individual closed out our ticket because we checked in after their noon closing using the drop off box. Unbelievable when I got the invoice for over $300! I never would have imagined we would be charged 200 miles over our actual odometer reading. We only had the vehicle for the day to move our daughter’s one bedroom apt from 620/2222 to Mopac in the Austin area. I just don’t understand why this whole transaction was so difficult. People must be more careful when dealing with other’s money and time! Training, training, training.....period!

This location did an excellent job. They were very informative and assisted by going above and beyond the Call of Duty. I was quoted one price from another location but it was not put in writing but they honor that price. He explain to me what I needed to do how to do everything and that made my experience much more pleasurable.

The truck price was advertised as $19.95. We ordered a dollie to be added. The Dollie was not there, but we were charged for it. The final price $76. We used it for 6 hours and put 15 miles on it. We did not get our money’s worth.

Only issue was that it took forever to get checked In because the UHaul website was not responding. Also no trailer the size I wanted was at any of the locations locally and I had to drive 20 miles to get the one I needed.
