The car hauler was dirty but that was fine. It was the ratcheting strap that gave me the issue. Too much dirt in the mechanism. Should be cleaned a lubricated periodically.

My reservation was changed twice on the day of my rental due to inventory issues at different locations. There has to be a better way for your system to monitor and predict inventory more accurately.

For me everything was great. when i rented the vehicle, the clerk was friendly, helpful and efficient. When i returned the vehicle, even though it was a different clerk, still friendly and helpful. Everything went surprisingly smooth and uneventful

Check in was great. The second person helping to connect trailer was rude and arrogant. Demanding what we do and how we needed to return the trailer.

The guy that hooked the trailer up using our trailer hitch and hook up equipment either forgot to hook the clip into the pin securely or not at all. We could have lost the whole trailer on the freeway. When we discovered the error, we borrowed a clip and pin to secure the trailer. We had to buy another clip and pin when we returned the trailer so we had it the next time we rent a trailer from UHaul. The person that checked the trailer back in was very apologetic and professional. I would use this location again, but I will check to make sure the trailer is securely hooked up correctly.

Don't change the workers or manager, Miss Jessica. Been using this particular Uhaul since i moved here in. 1996. She have ALWAYS wears a smile. Very professional and informative of her job, courteous and makes you feel welcome. I alwaya refer my friends to Matherfield station Uhal. UHAUL IS THE BEST!!! I will continue until i no longer need storage.

Check in and check out was quick and friendly. The facility was clean and in good order. The truck I got was OLD, lots of scratches and seriously sounded like it was on its last leg. People turned their heads to look when I drove by. It was ok for my purposes, but I hope nobody has to take a long trip in it. At check in, your website wouldn't let me upload my pictures for truck condition or gas tank level. I don't like this method of check-in. My fault - I lost the keys and had to pay to have a locksmith to come out to make a new one. When I originally tried to request roadside assistance, your website wouldn't detect my location and there was nowhere to enter my physical address. I called the rental location, since I was only about a mile from it, and was immediately told that I would have to use roadside assistance, and was then promptly disconnected when she said she was transferring me. I called roadside assistance myself, was informed that lost keys are a customer responsibility and would need to have a locksmith come out to make a new one. The CS rep from roadside assistance did look up locksmiths in my area and called me back with some possibilities. I ended up researching this and using my own. My issues with this scenario (Note: I do take responsibility for losing the keys): 1) From start to finish, getting in touch with roadside assistance was about 40 minutes, because of the website issues that I kept trying to figure out, and the rental location being unable or unwilling to help me. 2) When I called the rental location, I was IMMEDIATELY directed to roadside assistance, even though I told them that I was very close to their location. To me, this indicates that the rep I was on the phone with did not bother to look to see if there was an extra key, or there was no extra key. Either scenario should be concerning. Note that I would have been very willing to pay an additional fee to cover having an extra key cut from an existing one (which I cannot fathom a vehicle rental place not having). However, I ended up paying $100 to have a locksmith come out to make one from scratch, and spent about three hours (almost a half work day) getting this issue resolved. In this respect, I am probably lucky that I had an old truck and didn't have to get a newer, more expensive key made. I feel like many of the issues I had, could have been avoided with better and more compassionate customer service at the rental location. That being said, this was an unfortunate event, and I am still likely to use UHaul in the future. I have been a long-time customer and will probably continue to be.
