Provide a customer service phone number where customers can call and get answers to their questions other than: go to the U-Haul app. Refusing to engage with your customers during the rental process means you will loose many customers. You just lost me as a customer.

I was misled regarding rates. When I went to pick up the van I was led to assume the rate was $95 plus mileage with 70 miles free. I wanted to drop off 26 hours after and had to pay a full day rate plus not another 70 miles. Very disappointed. Attendant was not a people person, very cold.

On a Saturday, there was only one person manning the office, store and storage facility. One customer wanted to rent a unit, I was trying to pick up a trailer, and another customer came in. Not a pleasant customer experience.

NOTE: The 1-star is for U-Haul itself, not this location. This location was perfectly fine. My experience with U-Haul was awful. The place itself was fine, but U-Haul itself is horrendous. I waited 15 minutes with a screaming toddler just for "Crystal" to "verify my identity" which consisted of 8 minutes of doing nothing, 2 minutes of asking me to take another picture, 3 minutes to do nothing again and finally ask for a phone number of literally *anyone* I know (seriously?) and another 2 minutes to finally call that person. THEN I finally get verified, get the keys, and am getting ready to check out the van in the app and there is an incorrect mileage reported in the app. As I am correcting it, the app fritzes out and insists I call customer service to continue. I call and wait ANOTHER 15 minutes, still with screaming toddler in the other car, just to have a rep tell me there's nothing she can do about it and I have to take a picture and call after the holiday weekend. But oh, also call them when I drop it off. Then when I return it, I call them and wait the requisite 10 minutes, I get another CS rep who basically again says she can't do anything and that the location has to handle it, and I have to call again tomorrow. So I call the place the next day, and what do you know, they're closed for the holiday weekend (despite my asking the UHaul CS rep if they'd be closed). Fortunately they had an answering service and actually offered to call me back the next day when they were open. They did so and handled the mix up. In summary: U-Haul and its customer service is useless and cannot do anything real to correct any mistakes (of which they don't mind making many). I won't ever use U-Haul again.

I was frustrated at first when I was calling around looking for a vehicle. Kept being referred to the website, but that was no good because I didn't have access to a good browser or anything, just my not so smart phone. Finally I got a long hold. Drove past a place and went in. They were great, but the website referral just made me mad.

The customer service was worth driving out of town to rent a uhaul. Very courteous and professional. I originally tried renting at Paramus Tire and they are the worst representation for uhaul. My truck I reserved was not there the guy at the desk had no answers and didn't want to help me. AND he said to go to Saddle Brook! I live in Paramus!

Truck had safety issues which I reported upon return. Individual said "that was wierd, we just serviced it". Self checkin did not work and took 5+ more tries. My location was changed last minute to a location that does not open early and it caused issues with self check in failing to work. 800 numbers provided by customer service rep didn't open until later in the day. Total medd.

I really dislike that I have to fill the gas back to 3/4 of a tank. It’s really an annoyance because I always end up paying more than what I have to. It’s a very poor practice in my opinion on U-Hauls policy. Don’t know why the truck can’t just be returned on a full tank. Makes me want to look at other companies in the future.
