Went pick truck up at 8 had customer in front of me no biggie till about 20min later, only had one guy there could run computer, so finally got to counter was quoted online 19.95 plus mileage when checked out was 151.00 not sure how they come up with that rate anyway not this location fault it's corporate, got in pickup truck smelled like smoke and definitely hasn't been cleaned will not rent from this location again, Will go to the North Charleston location next rental.

The St Albans failed to call me before my appointment time which was scheduled at the North Charleston location that could not accommodate my needs and passed the rental on to the St Albans which failed to let me know that's where I needed to come to pick up my truck other than that it was a good rental

The truck had a check engine light on and the air conditioning did not work when the engine was under a load(I.e. When accelerating on the interstate and when going up a hill). Truck was less than half full and only got 8.5 mpg. In our prior 2 experiences with 26ft uhauls wegot 11.8 mpg on the same exact route. We expected better mpg out of the 20ft truck!

Try to have someone inside at all times. We waited about 15 minutes. Another lady came in and told us she had waited 45 minutes the day before. When you return a vehicle, you want to leave as quickly as possible. We had not eaten and just wanted to find a restaurant.



I have been over charged, ignored, lied to, brushed off, treated like trash, mislead, the supervisors/managers with the customer service department refused to speak to me on the phone. UHAUL IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY/BUSINESS I HAVE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH IN MY LIFE.

Nothing to do with the location itself, but I found the online reservation system confusing and thought that I would be able to pick up a vehicle that wasn't obviously unavailable at the location I chose. My ticket was redirected to another nearby location and I received excellent customer service from them.

Service was slow. Gave me a truck that didn't match the mileage. The truck was dirty. And since the service was so dang slow. It put me even in more of a time crunch to move my stuff. The ramp didn't pull all the way out, so couldn't use it. The dolly wheel was messed up, couldn't use it. Over all it was the worst experience. Just as bad as the one in North Charleston. Never will I rent from uhaul again. Employees were rude, and the equipment absolutely sucked.

Price per Mile was little high



This is my 4th rental within the last 6 months from this location. I don't know if this is new policy or not, but the employee asked me what phone number I had held the rental on twice, I replied twice, but he acted like he didn't believe me and called the number, which of course my cell phone rang in my pocket. I specifically asked to decline Safe Move, however when I got home after moving, I looked over the contract and he had still added it onto my bill. This truck which was rented to me had a "check engine" light on and was very much out of alignment. I had purchased boxes on the day of the rental and paid cash for them. He told me that if I didn't use all of them, he would refund my money. I returned one medium box which I was not reimbursed back for. Needless to say, I was disappointed during this visit! Perhaps you can trust and show respect to your customers who rent from you often! Check your equipment before releasing it to the next customer! Teach your employees to listen to the customers when they say what they do or do not need or want! Make sure that the customer receives his refund that is due him/her!

was price gouged on gas. smart ass worker insisted I did not have enough gas in the truck. i disagreed with where he judged the needle to be. it did not matter what I thought.



Access to pick up equipment is tricky. Equipment pickup and return are together. You must back into traffic on busy US 60 to get to the point of pickup from the building front parking.(Transfer either pickup or return to the other side of the building!) Also parking is angled for west bound entrance, I was coming eastbound.

The loading dock was full of mud. The right equipment, which I requested was not available. It was a terrible drive for me with a 20 feet long truck. Instead of 8 hours drive, including couple of stops, it took me 11 hours, as I had to drive slow and carefully.

The truck was very clean but handled terribly. The front end shook and it would jerk from side to side at times. This truck is dangerous and needs work done to the front end before someone gets hurt. Other than that it was a great experience.

I had a reservation for a truck at Sutton, WV but at last moment Evans Auto cancelled my reservation stating the did not have a truck. This caused a huge change in my schedule, and hours I had to pay employees since this was a corporate reservation. Thanks to the St. Albans team for helping me with the major issues caused by Sutton WV location.

There is a fundamental systemic disconnect in communication between UHaul Corporate Accounts and retail outlet operations. The only one punished by this sad state of affairs is the corporate customer. We will not be back.



The location was fine, and easily rented the truck and received the keys within 10 minute. The truck, another story. As soon as we left we thought the truck was fine. It was a large truck so of course not the easiest ride. We loaded the truck, and when leaving the power steering was completely gone. I am 5'0 and 110 pounds, so it was extremely difficult to drive the loaded truck to the new location. Thankfully we made it there, unloaded the truck, and I refused to drive it anywhere else due to the fact that it was almost impossible to turn. We were still charged $100.00, roadside assistance came and got the damaged truck and we were never contacted by U-Haul Again. I feel like we should have received some type of discount because we were unable to use the truck the rest of the day that we paid for. I would think the trucks would be serviced regularly before charging customers that much to use for 8 hours. I wouldn't rent a U-Haul truck again nor recommend to any of my friends or family.
