How U-Haul Reviews WorkThe truck was well worn and poorly maintained. It was dirty on the outside and in the cab, dirt on the floor and a thick layer of dust on the dash, indicating it had not been cleaned in awhile. The back was a different story. The truck had apparently been used to haul garbage, had a rotting food and garbage smell, and some left over lumber and computer parts inside. I did not look in the back until I got home, and discovered I would have to disinfect the truck before using it. If the store had been open, I would have returned it for a different truck. This is not the level of product that I am typically used to with U-Haul or Don's Rental. Truck got the job done, but I should not have had to clean it up prior to use.
HENRY BI reserved 2 furniture dollies and a half dozen moving blankets. When they were getting my truck, they radioed the front counter to tell them there was only 1 dolly. The counter person told them to start checking other trucks for another one. When they brought the truck up front for me, there was still only 1 dolly in it and supposedly not another one available anywhere on the premises. They didn't communicate this to the front counter because I was charged for 2 dollies. There were loose unfolded moving blankets left in a heap from the prior renters. We were told at the counter that the moving blankets needed to be returned folded and back in the plastic bag they came in. When I opened the driver's door to get in, the entire door seal fell off to which the person replied, "oh, that's a U-Haul thing". In summary, they didn't have the equipment that I'd reserved, they didn't clean up the truck from the prior renters, and the door molding was falling off so clearly that wasn't fixed the first (or second or third) time it was certainly seen when renting to prior customers. Lastly, they charged me for 2 dollies and for the bag of moving blankets of which I didn't use either because the dolly wasn't available and I had to clean up the scattered moving pads from the prior renter myself. This was a very poor rental experience and I'll be renting my equipment elsewhere from now on.
GARY SThe equipment was clean, however the truck I rented has vibrations at speed and a driveline noise. The u haul app is clunky and slow. The after hour check in procedure requires pictures and phone permissions, no way to verify without granting permissions on phone, I wasted 45 minutes on the phone and talked to 3 different people and still had to contact the local shop to help, which they did in on a holiday. I will only rent from U-Haul as a last resort. Please publish a way to pickup equipment without the app
