It was a long wait, and they didnt have the boxes we needed. Also my reservation told me a different location then 3900th, so i went there and wasted a 2 hours of time waiting for them to tell me i had to go to 3900th. which screwed up everything with the movers and driving. U-haul needs to be better organized...

It would be nice if the actual dimensions of the trailer were more prominently displayed on the website. A "information" alert would even be better during the reservation process. Fortunately, the trailer worked for my project.

We had an extremely frustrating time trying to rent a trailer. Our running lights weren't connecting so we needed the wiring replaced. It was a nightmare trying to get it done. Nobody had the time to do it. We couldn't call assertions to find that out either. We traveled to 4 different locations. One of which we had been scheduled by the call center to get the work done. Their tech had left an hour and a half later. I don't know how you guys are able to effectively do business this way. What's the point of having a call center to help with scheduling if they don't have the proper information for the location? We ended up having to replace the wiring ourselves. If we didn't have an immediate need of the trailer, we wouldn't have used you, but we had no other options. I really hope changes can be made. It was ridiculous and a waste of has to travel all over the salt lake area and then wait in line, sometimes for 15+ minutes to find out they didn't have time or a technician to do it. Something needs to be changed.

Salt Lake City, UT to Los Angeles, CA Road Trip. After hooking up and strapping in my car onto the tow dolly, the male employee failed to provide general overall instructions and precautions. The only instructions he provided was to wiggle the tire straps at each gas station to ensure that it was still tight, but didn't necessarily provide next steps on what it would look like or what one should do if the tire straps were in fact loose. At our first gas station stop in Fillmore, Utah, we happened to be pumping our gas next to another moving truck, Penske truck, that was also towing a car with a tow dolly. Same size truck and same tow dolly. My mother noticed that this other person's car was strapped into their tow dolly differently than ours. Turns out the difference was that on our tow dolly, the straps on the driver's side had completely unraveled and was on the side of the tire. While the straps on the passenger's side were still in place, but loose and about to come undone. We asked the gentleman who was driving the Penske Truck and tow dolly if he could help us figure out how to re-strap our car again. It turns out the straps were completely threaded in wrong. The Salt Lake City location 55 E 3900 S threaded the straps in FRONT of the bar on both the passenger and driver's sides. With bright green stickers and in bold print on the tow dolly itself - The tow dolly explicitly instructs to thread the straps BEHIND the bar. The Penske guy at the gas station unraveled and re-threaded both straps for us and showed us how to tighten them by cranking the levers to make sure that the car's front wheels touched the tow dolly. Additionally, my car is a manual front wheel drive car that was NOT in gear and instead in neutral. The Penske guy also instructed us to make sure it remains in 1st gear throughout our trip. Unfortunately, that was not the end of our problems, we had to make additional stops on top of our pre-planned gas stops, due to the straps continually unraveling, specifically on that driver's side. One particular stop I had to make was at midnight, as I could see the straps again completely came off from my driver's side uhaul side mirror. I had unintentionally made an abrupt stop at the gas station we pulled over at, and because that side was not strapped in appropriately, this resulted in my car jumping and twisting off the front of the Tow Dolly. We had to wait for roadside assistance to fix the situation and did not get back on the road until 3 hours later. We stopped at the next town, Barstow, CA; to wait for the Uhaul to open to see about trading the tow dolly for another one, and slept in the truck in the parking lot until it opened at 7 am. The manager at the Barstow location said that a new tow dolly would not be available until noon. We decided not to wait and keep on with our trip to LA, but not before the manager at Barstow stated that the straps were still not on properly, but now that he fixed and tightened it,

The staff was overwhelmed. Dropped off trailers were blocking the pull through area a ways back when I arrived to pick my trailer up. No employees were around, they seemed flustered with everything else they were handling. Either hire more ppl or invest more in training...

We have had problems twice now with making reservations and then when we go to pick up the truck it shows that there are no reservations. This is frustrating. Also, we returned our truck and it was never logged back in. There needs to be some quality control. The trucks are good and the people are friendly though.

I need to make a note that this location was indeed fantastic. My original pick up place was Towne storage and they were awful. I had set my reservation up well in advance, due to the fact it was the 1st. I got my notification I was to pick up at Towne storage in cottonwood heights. I was scheduled for 5:45 pm. I sent an email asking if I could pick up at 6 or 6:30. I had no response from anyone except saying my message was read. I then found out they were only opened to 5 so I made arrangements to get a ride to pick up only to be informed my truck was not dropped off there. I then needed to call for another ride to be taken to the 55 E 3900 s location. Here everyone was fantastic. I don't know why this location or the one in Murray was not my original location as I had wanted when I first made my request. Kudos to the men and women working at this location (55 E State Street UT) they were swamped but had a great attitude. They were dealing with cranky moving customers in such away that it calmed us all down. I was extremely impressed. I will recommend these guys for sure, but not Towne Storage. I also think that Uhaul may need to contact the customer before pick up if something has changed- like the location at the last minute.

When tou make a reservation you should be able to pick up at that time! I reserved my truck for 9am didn't get it until 530pm! I hired movers and by 530pm they were off work and my husband and I had to move all our stuff alone!!!
