I rented a 5x8 trailer for $500. That is ridiculously over priced. I would understand if it was a truck but for a trailer?


One of your two staff behind the counter was not wearing a mask - he had it below his chin, mouth and nose uncovered. Not cool to do with customers right across the counter.


The associates who helped me pickup, extend my rental and handle the return (different employees whose names I can't recall) were very helpful and very importantly: respectful of my time (was dealing with some issues that would've gotten worse if there were added delays). They also didn't treat me like a clueless woman (something that I've gotten a few times in my life with things that are vehicle related) which was appreciated even if not acknowledged (since treating all people regardless of gender with respect is just par for the course, of course).

Fewer homeless presence would improve a customer's sense of safety and security. Every visit was met with either homeless persons in the parking lot or within the rental and storage areas. Not sure why moving and or storage service providers would attract so many homeless other than the possibility that homeless people share nd or rent units to live in.


Its easier to bring the vehicle back then to rent it. I love the guys that check the vehicles in. The only issue I had was the tank was at a quarter full. I think it should be and a half. I had pre-ordered for the following week at the site, I asked for the same size truck , for the next week. I got o pick it up and its a cargo van. The staff said its no problem to fix the mix up because they had a lot in stock but it was a hick-up in my departure. Over all love the speedy check in and out . Love the guys that check the trucks in.

There should be a warning or reminder before completing the reservation for first time renters that they will need to bring two forms of government IDs in order to read the vehicle. Aside from this, the rental experience was good and Chad was very helpful.

The staff at Clairemont Mesa were great, no complaints about them. I didn't get a large enough size truck (U-Haul's fault) and now I have to make a return trip to the Bay Area to get the rest of my things that had to be put in storage. U-Haul management should pay people to deadhead its vehicles back to the Bay Area. Pass the costs on. Seemingly, U-Haul is waiting for a customer to move the vehicles back to the Bay Area, and that is not likely to happen in a timely manner. I am greatly disappointed in U-Haul and the whole experience. Why couldn't I have been informed earlier of the distance I had to drive to pick up the (inadequately sized) vehicle? Also, why wasn't I immediately offered a trailer to attach to the smaller truck? If the trailer was in a different location than the truck, why couldn't U-Haul have hired someone to put them together? Why wasn't I offered a storage unit immediately upon U-Haul informing me that the closest truck (smaller than requested) was 200 miles away? Instead I needed to complain that the truck was too small to hold my possessions, which only became obvious when we were packing the truck. I don't think this one-way crisis in the Bay Area is being adequately managed.


I had the worst experience with uhaul the day of my move. I went to go pick up my truck at a different location then this, the one I booked online and the truck wasn't there. So I booked another one online, truck still isn't there. I had a full on panic attack because the hired movers were at my place I stayed up until 2am the night before packing and now there is no truck to move?!? When talking with uhaul support they sent me to this address to get the truck. It is absolutely ridiculous that uhaul online lets you book trucks that don't exist at locations. I just went through the stressful process of buying a home and now uhaul made my moving day just as stressful. I will never use uhaul again.


Uhaul system was down so it took longer than usual to pick up the vehicle. However, this location had the best equipment and staff did know well what to do even under bad circumstances when system was down.


Just do what your doing the staff was friendly , informative and helpful

Be sure to check in the equipment properly and not charge the customer extra days because somebody at your store didn't do their job.

Contactless pick up was meaningless. The app did not recognize my location. Which requires finding a QVC code to scan in the building. I had to upload pictures of my license again the day of pick up even though I had done it the day before. The truck was not parked out front or ready so I had to deal with an associate so they could pull the truck around front where it should have already been parked. There was only half a tank of gas in the truck.


I was greeded well, as the manager help me with my trailer rental, and the man who hooked up the trailer was very through too.

I ordered from a different location. Neither location told me about a change in location. I got dropped off at the original location. Then I had to get a ride to this location. It was further away from where I needed to go. This location didn't accommodate at all. I had to pay for the miles and the gas to get to this far away location. I will not be using uhaul in the future.
