I want to preface this, before I rented the UHAUL, I called to see if there would be a 9ft van available. The person on the phone said yes, and I reserved the van at the Valencia Street office. When I got their, I was told that the Van was now at the Bryant Street location. I guess I got an email, but I was riding my bike. So, I didn't get that info, until I arrived. I also used the online check-in. I was the first person in line, but there was only one person on staff. So, I still had to wait. All of these things combined, made me late for things I had to do with truck.

I had reserved a truck at the Valencia street location, as well as made a purchase for a mattress bag. Unfortunately, I was forced to switch to Bryant because there were no trucks at Valencia, and the purchase was not transferred automatically, necessitating I purchase another mattress bag or drive to Valencia. There was also not the correct amount of fuel in the truck, and very slow service. Overall poor service, lack of customer orientation.

The staff who helped me with the return needs customer service training. He wasn't welcoming and was rough around the edges. A little training is all that's needed. He was efficient, though, once he acknowledged me.

Horrible experience checking in. Line was not moving!! Took almost 45 minutes with only 3 people ahead of me. Other than that experience was good.

Months ago I put in a claim because the package I received going less than 40 miles was obviously dropped off the truck and repackaged in a uhaul box to cover the mess. Upon opening the box I discovered prices of my box (a very expensive dresser) was missing pieces, had broken and damaged pieces, and the styrofoam inside was in pieces instead of blocks. It was a mess, they left a piece of the actual box it came in, the invoice was missing, it was a complete disaster. Once again I am appalled by your companies service. I asked for a refund of $100, what I was charged. This is ridiculous. 1. How does a large company like yours hide such a big mess and think that putting it in a new box would be ok? 2. This is the second time complaining about this issues without even an apology. I demand a refund, if not, I WILL GO TO LEGAL MATTERS. I also have photo evidence

The facilities are fine and managed well, however there is a HUGE and fairly aggressive local homeless population that are allowed to roam around the property (including parking lot where I picked up the van, and which had no visible security), which can be very uncomfortable to deal with. I understand that U-Haul has little control around the surrounding area but I don't understand why folks without U-Haul business are allowed to harass U-Haul customers on the property.

I made the reservation from 8am to 8pm, but no one told us that the gates would be locked at 7pm, and we'd have to find "safe" parking in the city ourselves, and then return before 8am the next morning. Had we known that, we could have easily returned the truck before 7pm. And we even called the number to confirm, and they said "Just return the truck with the other trucks and drop the keys in the late drop off box" Sheesh. We adjusted, but it could have been much less of a hassle with more consistent and accurate communication about this location.

the Uhaul truck handled poorly on the road. The alignment was terrible and was more like driving a boat on the high seas in rough water. The interior was greasy stinky and covered in a film of filth and shame. I had to baby wipe down the inside and the soot I took off the interior was deplorable. Please rent road safe clean vehicles. you sure charge enough to maintain the quality of every vehicle. I will never rent from Uhaul again. the margin for error is too great.

The truck was not cleaned before we picked it up. There was some trash in the cab, and there were no blankets in the back, and the tether on the dolly was broken. Overall good experience

Tell your employees to slow down moving the equipment through your facility. A female employee was driving way to fast and almost ran me over. The young man that checked me in had to yell at me to get out of the way . Not impressed at all....

Terrible service. Made check-in on-line and they still made me stay in line to pick up the keys, which delayed me for almost 1h. Note that it took them 5 sec to give me the keys when it was finally my turn. Also, because of the delay, I wasn't able to follow my move achedule and had to return the truck 2h late. Since I was late, tried to return it asap, which generaded me a $30 fee due to fuel below 1/4; however, the level was already slightly below 1/4 at pick up and I rode only 10miles...I'll never recommend or do business with U-haul again. Feel that writting this review is already a waste if my time as I suspect nothing will change/going to happen.

This was the most terrible process I spoke on the phone to the call center and they told me the truck would be available for self pickup at 6am and the gate would be open just to bring my cell phone and I.D. I got there at 6am and no one was around the gate was closed and that location doesn't even have a self pickup box Luckily the manager got there at 7am and got me the truck asap It did make me late by an hour throughout my whole day for all my jobs Oh and I tried to call the call center but of course no one answered Very poor communication and even worse is the false statements I was told I even got an email confirmation along with my online and phone confirmation to pickup the truck at 6am Very very poor service
