I rented a truck and trailer last week and they forgot the cotter pin to the trailer hitch. That would have been my life. Then only to return the vehicle, to deal with Chris's attitude. The SJ people and location took care of me when multiple phone operators completely screwed up my reservation 2 times almost leaving stranded w/o a truck to rent for a scheduled move after I had thought I scheduled the correct time frame days before thank god they guys there helped out to get what I needed now let's see if I do indeed receive the $50 credit that was promised to me due to the errors!

I was told that I could rent the vehicle for one week when I reserved it over the phone. When I picked up the vehicle I was told that I could only keep it for one day. The service agent that processed my paperwork was friendly and knowledgeable. The service agent that was working when I turned in the vehicle was very rude. Due to the fact that I reserved the vehicle for an extended period and was told that I could not do that when I picked it up, and because of the behavior of the service agent when I returned the vehicle, I plan on using a different rental service in the future.

Faster check in/check out time. It took 20 minutes to get the rental truck.

Even w express check-out, it took more than hour to check-out. The crew was helpful but the online system is a crap and failed several times and gave erroneous results (suggesting a van that was not there, wrong mileage, failing to upload pictures etc.,). Overall, it took 4 hours to rent/return a vehicle for a 30m job.

Truck was full of bugs on the front and sides; it could have been power washed quickly to clean it. Also when going down hill the transmission was laboring so much that it sounded as if it was going to break down.

Long line and staff that didn't know what they were doing when I dropped off the trailer. When I dropped off the truck on 7/8 the experience was slightly better.

I had to make multiple trips to pickup tow dolly in Fremont and then had to drive back to San Jose to pickup my Honda and then back to Castro Valley. I was supposed to be given an extra 75 miles for my trip and and 2 days extra. I actually only received 50 miles and 1 extra day. I ended up being over by 8 miles. I had to call customer support to try an rectify. I'm still waiting for resolution. I should not have been charged for going over. Additionally I only received 11 furniture pads/blankets instead of 12. I should not be charged for neither the extra mileage or the missing pad.

It was good. I was happy, except for having to wait in a slow line at pick-up time.



Your text fiction to notify me of pickup location change did not work and was frustrated when I got ther to pick up my van to be told I had to go to another location after my ride left. Because of that I had to get a small box truck which was more per mile. The text function should have a reply for confirmation of change, if that doesn't work call. I'm not impressed with uhauls service, I have had similar issues and customer service and training needs improvement in the stores
