Contactless pick up was not conducted in a contactless way. This is the second time I have picked up a usual vehicle where I had to re-enter information for verification. Both times I had to wait for “verification”. Both times I had to find and interact with someone who works there to pick up the keys. This is not how contactless online vehicle rental should happen. I should input my information, it should be verified - BEFORE - I go to pick up the vehicle, the truck should be unlocked and the keys inside or in a lock box and a code sent to me. Take some pictures, inspect the vehicle and go. The truck had unreported damage, was dirty, and stunk of cigarettes. Twice now I have gone with usual for a quick truck for the day, and both times it has ended up costing me in time and money what other competitors would cost - with at least the chance that things are more streamlines with better newer equipment. Likely my last time using uhaul.


Online checkin was annoying and would have taken less time if I just went the regular route and talked to the U-Haul rental guy at the store

At pick up, the LTPS light was on indicating low RR tire pressure. The clerk claimed to fill the tire but the light remained. The clerk informed that the light would turn off after a few miles of driving. Instead, the warning message indicated BOTH rear tires needed air - and remained so-illuminated for the remainder of my rental. Upon return, the facility owner blithely stated that the problem was with the sensors, not the air pressure - not even asking which truck I had rented.. He refused to provide any financial relief and even insisted that I refill the tank with the 3 gallons of gas used for the 35 miles driven. On a previous rental from this outfit, there was broken 1/4" thick sheet glass shards on the floor of the truck rented. JUST DISGUSTING.

Device sign in was difficult and had to physically go into office. The app kept directing me to sign into my acct, although an account wasn't required and I didn't create one. It did not just accept my order number, which I had readily available. I think the price is too high for mileage (.59 for my 80 mile trip to pick up furniturel); no local deals. I did open or use furniture pads, couldn't get a refund. I was charged an additional $5 for something in UHaul code when the van was brought back clean, on time and with a full tank. Check out was better, but had to go step by step through app, which worked thanks to text message link that is sent once your check in is complete. Would prefer up front information when ordering van, like how much for mileage, any local discounts, written instructions on how to check out, an order only number for checking in. Van was modern, clean, everything worked.

The online reservation was not as easy as it could it tookbe. For some reason because I had to save my info and go back to it, my pickup location was switched from Saratoga to Glens Falls. It took 2 or 3 phone calls to different numbers to get it straitened out. Then they had me in for a day longer than needed. The.p are people at marion Ave Mobil were very nice. Very busy time of year!
