I reserved a 15 foot truck at 7am at my preferred location in Harrisburg more than a week before the pickup date. I received a text message the day before they had a 15 foot truck in New Cumberland at 11:15. I called and told the customer service this was not acceptable and we would need a truck closer to Hareisburg. The customer service rep informed me they couldn't guarantee the trucks until the day before. I ended up getting a 10 foot truck but I was not able to move as much as I would have liked. I am very disappointed that I reserved a 15 foot truck and i was not able to get the truck at the time or place I reserved it. I do think that more than a week before hand is plenty of lead time to make sure the truck that was reserved is available. I believe this should be either be reimbursed or the system should not let one rent a truck that is not going to be available.

UHaul as a company is absolute trash. I called an made a reservation at a location that was approximately 15-20 minutes from my home, and it was changed, without my permission, to a location 40 MINUTES from my home. I was then made to pay for the extra miles. I will not be using Uhaul ever again. However, the drop off location was great! Amazing customer service. Maybe if the person running the drop off location ran the company things would go a lot better.

The front wall in the trailer was especially dirty - mold and/or grease in the corner seams and across the baseboard. The wood rail on the right side was loose and pulled away from the wall. It could not be used to tie down cargo. A portion of the railing toward the front was missing. It appeared that someone tried to glue and nail the railing in place. Overall this was an older trailer that needed maintenance and a good power washing.



The owner charged us for insurance coverage stating he could not change it, it was automatic, even though I had already taken care of the reservation both by phone and on the online reservation check in declining coverage both times. While there the owner yelled at other employees. The equipment itself had several holes and several patched holes. Our belongings were only in the trailer for the packing and the drive home, about 3 hours, and many of our belongings were wet including our mattress which we are now debating throwing away. It appears after this we will not be using U-haul again although I have used them for many years.

The front end vibrated probably because of out of balance tires. I was told by the Shippensburg PA location that U-Haul refuses to provide 12 or 15 or 17 foot trucks to this location. I cannot use the 10 foot truck and the 20 foot truck has insufficient weight capacity for its size. I am unlikely to rent from U-Haul again.

They guys here were so helpful and the only local place that had a tow dolly. Which was so much less expensive than getting our vehicle towed. Please continue as you are i will definately keep them in my mind for rentals when i need one. They will be my first choice all the way. I had to call around for instructions on pick up. I spent an hour on a sunday trying to figure out how to get my truck because they only told me I could do it from my phone and there would be instructions outside. There was not. I'm being charged $40 for an 1/8 of a tank of gas and because blankets weren't folded. Customer service was horrible and ridiculous. I'll use budget next time.

Check in process, while convenient on your phone, had some hiccups. Because of an unclear picture, I was denied access to the vehicle. Sat on customer service line for 50 mins until finally reaching someone to help me fulfill my reservation. Should get feedback right away to get a more clear picture. No way it should take 50 mins waiting for someone that can assist me with one small issue.

I reserved a 26’ truck for my move approximately 10 days prior to the day I needed. I was informed that they may need to bump me down to a 24’ truck if there wasn’t a 26’ truck available because those bigger trucks are limited. This information was provided at the time of reservation by Devin at Country Corner. Two days before my reservation date I received an email stating I had to pick up my 26’ foot truck in Carlisle at 12:30p. My original pick up time was 7am. I called he Carlisle office to dispute and the salesperson was very rude and disrespectful. I voiced my concern regarding having to pay the $0.99/mile for an extra 20 miles just to pick the truck up. I was basically told that if I wanted a truck at all I needed to pay whatever it took. I then called Countey Corner and voiced my concern to Devin. This is the same person I had made my reservation to. I reminded him of the information that he provided me when we had made the reservation. He told me I was out of luck and the best he could do if I didn’t want to drive to Carlisle was to get a 17’ truck which he had there. Being that I had everything set up to move on the reserved day and time I had to go with the 17’ truck. The day I went to pick the truck up the staff at Country Corner were very rude and unprofessional. At one point when our concerns were voiced, Devin asked ina threatening manner if we even wanted him to give us a truck. When we picked up the 17’ truck there were 2 26’ trucks in he lit. I inquired about them and was told they were not available. When we returned the 17’ truck at approximately 7p the same day the 2 26’ trucks were still sitting in the parking lot. This has been the worst experience I have ever had. It has caused unnecessary stress during an already stressful time. Customer service was clearly not a priority to the Carlisle or Country Corner office. I will never use this rental service again.

All of these questions pertain to the location, not U-Haul’s customer service. That’s not fair to the pick-up & drop-off locations. They were fine. U-Haul’s customer service & failure to provide a truck when and where it was reserved was terrible. I will NEVER use U-Haul again. You have lost a customer thanks to your inability to recognize me as a customer - awful, awful service experience!
