I was going to pickup my rented van at Cloverly, MD when I received a phone call from UHaul saying that my van was available and I would need to go to another location to pickup a van of the same size. I had my day planned down to the hour and this threw a monkey wrench in my plans. I had to go to Winchester, VA to pick up a very heavy item and I hired a moving company to meet me there at a certain time. UHaul rebooked to a place that did not open until 10am! I had to wait for them to open! Another thing is that I don't normally go into liquer stores and this UHaul was in one - not very classy. The guy in the liguer store was nice, but my schedule was shot and I had to race to my pickup, which was 85 miles away. On top of this hassle, I had to pay for the extra mileage. Cloverly is .8 miles from my home, the Silver Spring Uhaul is 7.7 miles away. Roundtrip, that equals 15.4 - 1.6 = 13 miles I should not penalized for something that was not my mistake. Terrible.

It would have been nice if the cart, which the gentleman helping me deposited in the middle of the parking lot while I walked to the truck, had not been full of rainwater. Being dry and clean after moving it into the truck would have been swell. Also, I could not tell it was a u-Haul location in any fashion before I called them.

I could not find the specific location. I actually came into the location via the back door. I was very upset that the location, which was 5 minutes away from my home was changed to this location. If you reserve a truck at a specific location, that's where the truck should be on pick up day.

I originally reserved and paid for a trailer to be picked up in Rockville. I filled out ALL the forms online. Because your website said that it would save my trailer and make it faster when picking up my equipment. I got a call from someone who could barely speak English who told me to now pick up my trailer in Silver Spring....which was 20 minutes out of my way (each way). How can you MOVE a reservation to a different place...... doesn't a reservation mean it is RESERVED (saved) for me to pick up where and when I reserved it????? I couldn't find the new uhaul pick up location, because it's in a Beer & Wine store?? I was expecting a professional Uhaul location like the one in Rockville. When I finally found it the gentleman inside was absolutely inept and wanted me to fill out ALL of the same forms I filled out online. The process took WAY TOO LONG. Waisting even more of my time . I may get a uhaul in the future.....but, NEVER from the Lamberton Dr, Beer and Wine store location.

I needed to pick my truck up at 8am. Shop owner didn't show up to open up until 8:10. Overall, truck and equipment were clean, so no issues there. However, drivers side rear view mirror was loose and pivoting all over the place, making the use of this mirror impossible. The worst part of my experience was how my payment was handled. I don't think this is the fault of the individual Uhaul operator, but a failure for Uhaul as a whole. I paid over the phone prior to renting the truck, thinking it would save time. Although my bank account showed that I paid, my payment didn't show up in the system. This took about an hour to resolve. I had hired a crew to meet me at the Uhaul location so they could drive the truck back to my apartment and load it up for me. I hired their services for $78 per hour. So, imagine how maddening it is for me that while Uhaul took a full hour to resolve my payment issue, my driving/loading crew was forced to wait in the parking lot until I could get the truck. Therefore, I had to pay this crew $78 extra due to Uhaul taking forever and a day to figure out my payment. I don't think that this is fair that I had to lose money over Uhaul's error, and I would like for this to be corrected.
