The van we rented was covered with dog hair inside. I have photos of seat and interior of cab. My mother who rode back with me to return the van said she felt like fleas were on her because she was feeling something biting her. For sure the worst experience I've had dealing with U-HaulHENRY C.

Lock on key box was not working, had to wait an hour for the location to open to get assistance. This is not the fault of the location owner, who was happy to provide assistance. Also U-Haul needs better instructions for the self return. The vehicle was dirty at pick up and a little over half tank gas. Driver window won't go up or down properly. Back door was off track to open and close right. Wires disconnected so lock and unlock don't work. Returned and was over charged 300 dollars. Still haven't had the problem fixed because customer service hung up on me today. I received a text from U Haul to arrive on time to pickup the truck. I have arrived at the store 5 minutes past my time. I have waited for almost an hour before I got my truck. It was unorganized to run a business.Darius D.
There were no furniture pads as requested and paid for. There is no cell service in the area, so I couldn't upload photos or use the app to get the van. The van door had damage on it so the door sounded like it was open and let rain in. the previous user left used masks in the cab, along with trash in the back.Samantha V.
Only problem is that the van said there was "low tire pressure" when I picked up car. It looked fine but I did call it to the attention of the manager prior to renting. I had no problems but that was only thing that made me nervous.Kenneth I.
The truck was clean, but the check engine light was on the whole time, and the driver seat was not adjustable or backwards. The lever that adjusts it was not working. I was unable to check the truck back in online because the app was not working properly. Thankfully, I was able to call customer service and got a quick response and they were great.Shana B.

I don't think Uhaul should use small business like furniture stores or liquor stores as partners. The two places I have gone to this time and in the past are not welcoming and they don't represent Uhaul correctly. I have been in your stores and they are much more presentable. That being said. I think Uhaul overall needs to improve their delivery of customer service. In addition the check engine light was on. I also had to drive the truck back to the pick up spot and come to find out the windshield wiper wasn't working. It was raining yesterday! Also the light that detects if the back door is open was broke. I had my friend come out and check it twice and it was closed which means that probably the sensor was broken. The guy at the counter was nice but I think as a business owner he was careless. He was only concerned about the mileage and odometer reading. He didn't come out and inspect the vehicle with me during either time. I think that was because he was the only one working in the store at the time. I don't think I will ever rent from Uhaul again.Deshaun F.

This was the worst experience ever. Do not go to Beer and Wine in Wheaton MD on Lamberton Dr. we we quoted one price and we were charged more than double and the worker refused to honor the price he verbally told us. I was a little frustrated when I went to this place. My original U-Haul did not have a van and they sent me to another U-haul. I specifaclly asked for another U-haul location and this place was not the one. Once there I had to add my license again. I thought I put it on the national database and wondered why I needed to do it again. The owner started to use his personal phone and was going to take a picture of my license. I asked if I could take a picture using my phone and he agreed. Also, the gas tank on the contract was 5/9 when it was actually 4/9. Not too big of a deal since I usually add a bit more. I got it up to 2/3. Hopefully the owner put in 2/3. I would use this U-haul again. I was frustrated since I had a bit of a run around. In addition, the owner stressed cleaning the van. When I got the van it had broken glass and bits of plaster on the floor of the van.Lawrence B.

This was single handedly one of the worst experiences of my life. The UHAUL representative was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and tried to scam me. When I arrived at the location he refused to give me the keys to the truck that I had already paid for saying "the previous customer did not return the key." After a serious of going back and forth he tried to get me to take the key to a smaller vehicle even though I paid for the larger one. After I got on the phone with an actual UHAUL employee and she demanded he give me the key, the key magically appeared out of thin air. I do not recommend anyone ever going to this location and UHAUL should make sure it shuts down because they are losing money through this scammer. All the google reviews speak of a similar experience and I just wish I checked them before going to this location.Rebeca R.

For the future, myself and another individual were confused on how to access the keys as there is not staff on deck for verification. Luckily, an employee was there to retrieve returned keys and assisted us with obtaining our vehicles. The instructions were unclear on how to open a lockbox and retrieve the keys to our vans. I did not receive my dolly and my furniture pads with the uhaul. Additionally, I had my uhaul scheduled for pickup at 8. I arrived at 8 and could not get the uhaul until 8:20 due to the verification process.CHARLES M.
I opted for the 24 hr remote pick up and the keys were left in the wrong safe box. Fortunately, the online staff were able to quickly resolve the issue and provide access to the correct keys. They were extremely helpful and courteous. Also, I was initially charged for a hand truck and moving blankets which I did not request and were not in the truck. The online process also resolved that quickly by removing the charges.Peter H.

the owner yelled at the worker so loudly. Called him bad names and just continuously yelled and then tried to yell at us as we were returning the vehicle and equipment Seems like Uhaul contracts and franchises with some sketchy companies and business people who hold themselves out as your representatives. It's a ugly situation and no one in the company seems to be watching or caring about how customers are treated by these peopleMichelle C.

The first vehicle I was assigned only had one brake light working and no rear left turn single. It was also very dirty, so I thought until I received the second assigned vehicle. It should be noted that I reserved this vehicle a week in advance and noted that I would need it for 1100 miles over 5 days. Of course, the first vehicle did not have a full tank of fuel, so I stopped to top it off on my way home. $50 later, and after I was home, we discovered the lights not working. I called the dealer --- no answer -- so I drove the vehicle back to the pickup point. They did not know what to do and I had to call U-Haul "customer service" only to learn no easy fix even with a fuel receipt. I was given another vehicle with what I was told was a full tank of fuel. Not the case... Nevertheless, I was about to depart on my 500 mile trip the next day. Then, after I had to clean the cargo area out, wash the vehicle as it was so dirty that I didn't want to touch it, vac the cab... but wait... now the TPMS message on the dash stated that the right front tire was low. I have all this on my phone via pictures. I checked the tire --- 40 PSI --- about half of what it should have been. While I was at it, the left front also very low. The rear tires were of course over inflated. Thus, since I had the equipment at home, I correct the tires PSI and hoped that was the end. Oh yes --- I had to add window washer fluid since the bottle was empty. About an hour into my trek, the vehicle sends me a message that the oil is very low and to add oil. I stopped, and added a quart --- not even on the stick yet --- so I want back inside for second quart -- OK, on the stick so let's get back on the road and hope this is the end. Nope, the "service air bag" message came on next. I turned off the passenger airbag and it want out (until the end of the trip). Such basic maintenance and service that should have been done before I was given a key was never done. Not sure I can return to U-haul except for short local service of 10 miles or less... I happy to review this with management if they care --- but I doubt they do. Ken LimingKenneth L.

It was not a good experience. I collected my van without issue, but during my usage I was informed that my reservation was cancelled. I believed this to be an error as I was driving the van. Upon my return it was evident that I had not been correctly checked in and the us ensued an hour of my time waiting for things to be sorted out. First I was told my card had been declined, then that there was an issue with my contract, when in fact, everything had been cancelled by you folks and a whole new contract needed to be written. The man at the store was new and allowances are therefore due. However, when he called for assistance, that chap did not report the situation truthfully. The cell service at this location is poor. I have a 5G iphone and the app was so slow everything I tried to do took forever. I couldn't get my phone to let me take a photo of myself and the app wasn't giving me any help. I finally went into the store and got help from the owner. He was extremely nice and processed my reservation. However, when I got out to the van, I noticed that there was a big dent in the back cargo door and there were flattened cardboard boxes laid out over the van floor. I went into the shop and asked the owner about the dent and he gave me some stickers to put on the dent. I was worried about being charged for the dent, but that seems not to have happened. When I returned the van, I again had lots of problems with the app. I had to contact customer service later to get a copy of my receipt.Rebecca S.
