This location was so friendly and easy to work with when I went to pick up my truck! It’s a gun store and they had this cute Heeler pup named Sammie who was also there. The man that checked me out made everything a breeze with getting my moving pads. Their storage locker does have a mouse problem, so I was warned beforehand that he had to go through and get the pads that hadn’t been chewed through and he had to double check to ensure there weren’t any critters hiding in them before I took them. I’m a veterinary technician so critters don’t bother me, but if this would bother you, choose a different location. My only gripe with the truck was the amount of dog hair on the seats and tufts of it on the floor. The cabin smelled like dog when I first opened the door. A vehicle that smells like dog and has dog hair is not clean. I also did a thorough wipe down of the seats and steering wheel before leaving and my wipes were brown afterwards. I figure all U-Haul trucks aren’t getting *actually* cleaned (wiped down, disinfected, etc.) between uses, so the U-Haul /company/ definitely needs to implement a better cleaning protocol company wide. Overall experience with the pick up location 10/10! My experience with U-Haul themselves is 6.5/10. I was called the DAY BEFORE my move to have someone tell me the 10’ truck I reserved a week prior was unavailable and the only other options were much larger trucks an hour way, all available at night. Ridiculous. We did end up working out a solution where I got to keep my same initial rate and got comped miles as well since I had to drive an hour to pick up the new 15’ truck. The day of pick up, Sportmans Corner called me as I was otw to their location, and told me they only had a 20’ truck available and that I had to call U-Haul to ensure my discussed rate would be the same. I called back U-Haul advising them I was 30 min away from pick up and thankfully, they did make adjusting my reservation for the new-new truck a breeze. Still stressful with so many last minute changes the day before and day of moving, but they were at least easy to work with. They need to absolutely create a better system of reserving trucks instead of telling customers they have a “guaranteed truck” on XX day and time without actually confirming WITH THE LOCATION if the truck is available. Would solve so many problems, smh.

JAMES SAfter renting the trailer I had brought wrong size ball needed so I go back home which is a 35 min round trip,get correct size go back get trailer and go back home where the vehicle I needed to tow was only to find the trailer too short. Upon arrival back at the rental location I asked if s tow dolly was available and the reply was no .U haul software said it was not a match when I rented but the language was written in a way to imply that the vehicle used to tow wouldn't be sufficient due to its age not the trailer is too damn short for what needed towing.Got me. Oh yeah I parked the trailer next to the tow dolly they didn't have. Half a day wasted,the total time on the receipt for rent was 1hr 40 min.and cost me $75. If I had money to give away it wouldn't be to a lying,grifting to exist uhaul rent whores.

MICHAEL NThe truck’s gas was almost empty. The back cab was not swept out. The email we received for our pick up did not instruct us to download the U-Haul app. We had to call customer service to be informed of this. The lock was difficult to remove from the lockbox. Was not able to leave the premises yesterday with truck until 1 hour after the scheduled pickup time. Had to stop by the gas station out of the way of destination adding additional 15 miles to mileage.
