I rented a small box truck to pickup a refrigerator and couldn't stand it up in the back of the truck. The truck didn't have the headroom. Had to comeback empty handed. Thanks for asking.

This reservation was a nightmare-it was originally scheduled and confirmed for pick-up in Watsonville, however, upon arriving to this location, I was advised there was no equipment available for my order and reservation. I then had to drive 15 miles to another location, only to discover that my truck was still not there. I had to wait an additional 90 min for my equipment to arrive. Once I called a third location (in Santa Cruz), I was finally given the main dispatch number, which lead to the equipment finally being transferred to me for pick-up.

I think the two service people at that location were so professional about the rental. That helped me a lot to be reassured.. one worker on the day of my receiving the van and the other worker was extremely considerate when I came back. The only improvements I suggest would be those on the 800 reservations.. It could have been a clearer phone connection. U Haul station I called locally forwarded and reserved the van for me and that was also well done.

i had a lockout situation and couldn't get uhaul road assistance to answer the phone. when i tried to login on to the help site there was an issue with your site and it said there was an issue and i should leave an emai. i left an email, called the location where i picked it up and asked them to call, they also couldn't get through. i called my insurance aaa and they would not come out because of your roadside plan. i had to pay a tow company to unlock the car. this all took 3 -4 calls unanswered to uhaul, i was on hold for 45 minutes. extremely bad roadside service!!

I attempted to rent a van from my usual uhaul place on Soquel Drive in Soquel, however once I was dropped off and went inside I learned that I had been rerouted to a place about a mile away. I immediately contacted the agent and stated I didn't want to rent from that location as the manager has a reputation for over charging customers. They told me there were no other vans available, so I had little choice but to take the van from the alternate location. I proceeded to load my daughters things and move them across town. Buy the end of the day, I wasn't feeling well and my dog got ill later that night. I woke up the next morning and was very ill but attempted to drive the van full of stuff to my daughters but every time I got in the van after about ten minutes I would be sick again. I contacted the head quarters and told them I was ill and couldn't drive the van back that day. They said no problem, afterwards I received 28+ calls from the manager at the location I rented from. I told him I was ill And had contacted corporate, but he continued to call about every 10 Minutes a total of over 40 calls I received that day. The next day I was still not well so I asked a friend to help me return the van. She came and opened the door and said "It smells like mold in here." She lifted the felt liner off of the van floor and the entire backside was covered in mold. There was old wet roofing material in the indentations of the van floor. She took several pictures then got bleach spray and covered the floor with bleach and then wiped it out. I contacted the corporate office again. Spoke with an agent named Sadie King, and was given a reference number 1117425. And told someone would contact me regarding this matter. I have not almost a year later heard a word. Have tried to contact Sadie King, but emails returned undeliverable, no phone answered. The only thing I've received besides continued phone calls from the Valero I rented van from. Was an anonymous email with an invoice charging me for a half tank of gas and additional days and a threat to turn me to collections if I didn't pay full amount at once. I have photos of gas level and mileage when van was returned showing tank was full. No one will respond to my attempts to contact the corporate office. My credit card was charged over the amount agreed to. When I attempted to rent a van at. An out of state location, I was denied rental yet my credit card charged another $50 for What I do not know. If you are in Santa Cruz County try to find a different rental company and NEVER rent from Valero location at Main and Porter. Rumors are true he will rip you off, rent moldy vehicles, and harass you.
