Staff was unpleasant, would not recommend this location. Uhaul was convenient for moving but did not enjoy dealing with staff members.

Unfortunately, this location is the only one that rents out cargo vans. It's located on the busiest street in the city and you are not permitted to park your car there because of limited space. Parking elsewhere and walking to this location in the winter time is not safe.

The best suggestion is to equip vehicles with snow tires. All season tires don't cut it when snow is on the road.

the location and staff were great and the truck was in good shape and clean but and a big but we don't live in arrizona where these trucks come from and our winter conditions are usually snowy and slippery, these trucks should be equipped with winter tires to make them safer It will be too late when someone gets hurt or killed because the company saved a few dollars on tires. I hope for everyones safety someone in authority reads this and does something about it.

Don't try to rip off customers by lying about the amount of gas in the truck when returned. We as customers should not have to take pictures of the gas hand as we should be able to have trust in your company. Unfortunately, now I have none.

This week with all good results prior to this I will look else where next time

I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again unless the vehicle is equipped with winter tires. All-Season tires?? Are you fucking kidding me? In Newfoundland?? I got stuck 3 times and that is NOT acceptable. Just because it isn't legislated to have winter tires on doesn't mean you have to gamble with your customers and the general public's lives you cheap fucks. Please give this "comment" to the tight wad myopic fucktard holding the purse strings. Hopefully someone will pull their head out of the collective corporate ass and recognize that a small gesture such as winter fucking tires will go a long way in engendering brand loyalty.

I had major difficulties controlling my rental van on the slippery snowy roads of St. John's because your vans are not properly equipped to maximize safe driving in winter conditions. Despite being new, your all-season radial tires equipped on vans with rear-wheel-drive are totally unsafe in snow conditions, especially given how St. John's is such a hilly city. My experience: Within 10 minutes of renting the van on Saturday afternoon, Dec 17th, 2016 I was unable to travel more than about 30 feet up a curving inclining driveway to my son's apartment building. My son is a taxi driver and he gets his cab up and down that driveway every time with no problems because it is equipped with snow tires. So back to my story, since we couldn't get up, we tried to back the van back out onto the road, but again we had no traction and it slid off into a snow bank and was lodged in deep snow that had been cleared and piled along the edge. After borrowing a couple of snow shovels and digging for a half hour in minus-20-degree cold, it was futile, so I called your office and was referred to the 1-800 line for road side assistance. After going through several minutes of "press number options", I finally got a live person working out of Texas or somewhere south, who took almost 10 minutes to just understand where Newfoundland was, so she could locate me on GPS. If I had to rely only on her, I felt I would be waiting until next spring. While she was trying to locate me, my son continued to dig, and thank goodness 2 other vans each with 2 young men pulled up, and together we somehow managed to push the van out. My son and I were planning to pick up and deliver 2 full van-loads of furniture that afternoon to my son's new apartment at 161 Old Pennywell Road. As a result of that experience, we had to park on the road for each delivery and carry each furniture item up the long driveway about 120 feet to the front door, which was a very exhausting experience. Later that same afternoon, we got stuck again, this time while trying to drive out of the parking lot at the Trader Jack's store onto the street that intersects with Freshwater Street. There was a lot of traffic on this last Saturday afternoon before Xmas, with cars buzzing round the corner off Freshwater on to the street where we were trying to exit. In this case we were trying to go up only a very slight incline, and now we are talking about a major commercial intersection in St. John's. It was very scary, because traffic was very heavy, and if we caught traction too late with spinning wheels, we could have shot out too quickly and/or too late and possibly struck another car whipping around the corner. We finally got out after about 5-10 minutes without incident. Bottom line recommendations: 1) you should put snow tires on all your vehicles during St. John's winters, especially considering all the hills and snowy icy local conditions. 2) if possible, you should have vehicles with front-wh

The van should have winter or studded tires in this weather and location. The all season tires are very dangerous and inconvienent in the snow . U haul is suppose to make your move easy but with the tires we couldn't even get in our drive way to load the van . Also, dangerous on the roads.

They refused to take my visa # over the phone. My brother-in-law had to use his visa. I needed it on my visa for travel expenses and points. They assured my driver there would not be a weight issue, however, he got pulled over in Nova Scotia and we were forced to rent another U-Haul trailer for another $975.20 (added expence), he was delayed over three hours, forced to unload the truck by himself. Which delayed us another day to return the U-Haul truck, which we got invoiced another day. The truck was due back 9:30am…we couldn’t get it back until 12:30pm and for those three hours we were charged another $40.00 per day. We were charged an extra expense of a total of $1015.20. I am totally unsatisfied with U-Haul’s service and would recommend it to NOBODY!!!! Totally unsatisfied customer Stephen Hicks stephen.hicks100@gmail.com

Disappointed with the service. Received the truck in the afternoon when I requested morning. I know there is no time guarantee but for someone who is moving to another province they should at least try to make accommodations. It was my first time driving a U-Haul and getting the car on the auto transporter was challenging. Didn't have any help from the guys at the location. While I was figuring out the transporter, the truck's battery died. The guys were reluctant to check the vehicle, gave it a boost and sent me on my way. I was anxious the whole trip that the truck would stop and won't start. Really unpleasant experience.

Truck was fine, and staff were excellent. Only issue was the truck had summer tires on it, and it was snowing pretty good when I picked it up. Truck was slipping and sliding ...a little scary. Would be a good - and safe - to have rubber suitable for the season.

I was given a truck that leaked, all my furniture got soaken wet, your company should do leak tests before each rental to assure this don't happen again!

Staff were knowledgable but not overly friendly. One staff made art seem we were a chore to deal with. The vehicle was running but in rough shape. I did not appreciate all the small charges that take on to the base rate. Our final bill was triple your posted rate and I find this misleading. I did not appreciate having a dolly in the back of the truck that cost me when we had to move it out of the way to use the truck bed. Adequate service, passible vehicle, misleading charges. Will pursue other agencies next time
