Did not like calling the local number and ALWAYS (as in over 10 times) getting transferred to the answering service. I had specific questions I needed to ask of my LOCAL dealer. They would not pick up the phone so the answering service clicked in.

I booked online. The rental was not available at the location closet to me yet I wasn’t informed of this until the day of my rental. We get there and they make us call an 800 number because they accuse me of not returning a truck. After they discover the mixup it put us behind schedule and hour. Then I drop it off on time after hours and get my final bill today. It is almost triple what I agreed to pay.

Only one person handling all the rental agreements/checkout and then getting the vehicle prepped for the customer. I was 3rd when I walked in and waited about 25 minutes until served. When I left, there were at least 10 people waiting. My vehicle showed a "Full" tank when I picked it up. I drove 6 miles. Before returning it, I put 2.3 gallons into it. I told the man at the drop-off about this, as he entered my mileage using an app. He replied that he wouldn't know if that was unusual because he didn't drive that vehicle often. I asked again if he didn't think that this vehicle should get less than 3 miles per gallon, getting a similar reply, then asked me if I wanted a receipt. What I wanted was a refund for some of the gas... and the fact that they also owed me $1.98 because the mileage estimate they put in my payment at pickup was for 8 and I only drove 6. After conferring with a manager, they offered me $5, which I accepted. Still a bit off the mark, but I didn't feel like bickering any more.

I ordered a certain truck and was offered one a quarter the size when I got there. They finally gave me one that was half the size I ordered so I incurred extra charges for mileage because I had to make 3 trips. Totally unsatisfied.

I specifically asked not to have my card run it was just to secure the reservation. When returning the vehicle I was charged by card anyway. When asked to pay cash a girl replied well it was ran already I just added $8 more for the use of the dollt. I expressed that because the directions were not followed as requested my account was overdrawn and I have a returned check few. The girl replied well they aren't going to give that back call tomorrow and speak to the manager from 7-3. I was furious and no one seemed to care.

On 10/23 I thought I rented a 20' truck for 8am to use on 10/28. Received a call on Friday 10/27 that my only option was a 15' truck available at 11am on 10/28. This made things very inconvenient due to the fact I had hired movers to show up at 8am. When I asked if there were any other options, I was told my only other option was to cancel the order if I did not want to use the 15' truck. The employees at Canal St. were very nice, however the people that called to tell me the truck and time I thought I reserved had to be changed were very rude.

I reserved a 20' truck on Wednesday and when I got there to pick the truck up they told me they only had a 10' truck and a trailer which made things tough to load and I was supposed to get a dolly also and they forgot that so I had to go back and get it. I was 150 miles from home and this was not a good experience. I had received a call about the truck change and tried to call 3 times only to hear the phone go dead after several minutes on hold. I left for my trip at 3pm and they had my number why did they send me an e-mail and not call me? It also cost me $14 for the toll booth due to pulling a trailer which I would not have had if they had given me the truck I reserved.

The trailer was mechanically unsound. There was an intense shaking of the unloaded trailer at speeds between 25 - 40 mph. I suspect a bent wheel or axle, and suggested as much to the staff (who were apologetic).
