Dropped my rental off late at night, I was unaware of the need to photo-document truck interior and exterior. My phone was on very low battery and flash would not work--it all worked out as my daughter was with me, but maybe a heads up about drop-off procedure would be helpful. All in all a very good experience.

I originally rented a 10ft truck because I was told by Uhaul over the phone that it had a ramp. After picking up the truck and going to load it did I realize there was no ramp. I immediately called to switch out the truck for the 15ft once I was told that none of the 10ft trucks have ramps, even though I had previously been told they did...grrr. A few days after I returned the truck (post-cleaning and refilling on gas) I was emailed a receipt which denoted charges for fuel and fuel service! I immediately called Uhaul because I had put more than enough gas in the truck (it was originally given to me with only 1/4 tank). The first time I called I was told a message was sent to the local Uhaul facility and that they would be returning my call shortly. I called again after work the next day because my original call was never returned. Apparently it was marked that I dropped the keys in the drop box when in reality I turned the keys over directly to the Uhaul worker who greeted me at the return station. He checked the mileage and gas and told me I was good to go, so I thought nothing of it until I got the receipt charging me for gas. The person I talked to on my second phone call was extremely helpful and was as perplexed as I was with the return situation and refunded me the additional fuel charges. I wish I had gotten her name because she was wonderful and made sure I was not getting ripped off! The only positive to come out of the Uhaul experience.

The young man assisting us with checking in took a lengthy time in completing the necessary paperwork. Asked multiple times for license plate information and obviously requires computer training on processing contracts or maybe have one individual handle their system and a second handling instructing the customer. However, his knowledge and instructions for handling the auto trailer in placement, securing, and safety process of the vehicle was impeccable. His patience was awesome!

I received a call the night before my "guaranteed" reservation, telling me that the 20' truck I "reserved" was not available. I could rent a 17' truck instead, but only for round trip because the uhaul location I was using wanted to keep their trucks local. Additionally, instead of the agreed 9 am pickup, I couldn't pickup the truck until noon. Upon arriving for pickup, the truck was not back from the last rental and I was forced to wait an additional hour. To top it all off, the truck was in bad condition. The steering and suspension were terrible; the vehicle was VERY difficult to keep on the road. It was unsafe. I will not use uhaul again.

Having equipment ready in working order is important. The marker lights on the trailer were not working when I picked up the trailer. The attendant tried to get them working but could not. They had to locate another unit for me to use. I waited an over an hour before they decided they could not get the lights working. It was something wrong with the wiring. So they sent me to another location to pick up a unit in better condition. Equipment should be checked and in working order before the customer arrives to pick it up.

Information in U-Haul website said trailer I rented said it was a 6" x !2" trailer with ramp Only one piece of information was missing. RAMP IS ABOUT 54 INCHES WIDE AND MY LOAD WAS 60" WIDE!!! Returned to store within 2 hours and was issued full credit. My fault I should have measured the opening before I took the trailer, so I appreciate receiving credit and will rent from same location again.

I made my reservation in Liverpool, it is really stupid that I make a reservation, you give me a confirmation and then the day before my scheduled move you tell me there are no trucks available where I made my reservation and I have to drive 40 miles to pick up a truck.

When I showed up there were two people working inside. One was helping a customer and the other was asleep in a chair. The on sleeping looked up at me and went back to sleeping. After about 15 minutes the guy sleeping gets up and walks outside where you see him sit down again on the video camera system. He proceeds to sleep outside in the shade. Eventually the employee that was working got done helping his customer and then helped me. When I went around to hook up the trailer, the other employee was still sleeping while I hooked up the trailer myself.

I waited way to long in line to pick up a truck that I had already reserved. The process of picking up a truck that is reserved should be streamlined. My biggest complaint had to do with the moving blankets. They were disgusting! Grease stained, tape on them and just plain dirty. The truck was clean and seemed well maintained.

I left a piece of equipment in the van and have been calling for the last 2 days to attempt to get it back. I have spoken to 4 different people and they all have said that some one from the Syracuse-Teal Avenue Location would get back to me. No one has at all. Every time I call I get the same statement over and over again. I have not gotten anywhere with calling customer service I have gotten no where with talking with anyone.

I came into drop off my vehicle at 10am on Sunday. There was a line of about 15 people and only one agent available. It looked like a long wait. Fortunately I was able do an online return wth my phone. I would have been unhappy if I had to wait in line.

We were told by this location to drop the truck off to the Inkster, MI location. However the Joy Rd location in Canton, MI called to inquire about drop off. They stated they needed the truck. It was inconvenient for us to drive to Inkster. So there needed to be better communication. Especially since the Inkster had so many trucks and was very busy.

The lady who helped me wasn't very friendly (she wasn't rude, just not very outgoing), but she took care of business. I'd like to point out an employee, I don't have his name though, he's an African-American gentleman, sort of tall and thin. He was there past closing, on Friday no less, helping out 3 or 4 parties who showed up last minute. He was very cool and collected, and he took care of the customers with a smile. I wish I got his name, he's the type of employee every U-Haul should have.
