Firstly, I was booked in a different location than the one I requested so when I got to the one I had booked the verification code didn’t work and I had to call the 1-800 number I did not have a good experience The policy that states if you use debit for your deposit it gets returned in a cheque in 3-4 weeks is archaic, there is a refund feature on every debit machine, I had to leave find a bank (not mine-so paid charges on the withdrawal) and it cut into my move by 45 minutes ( friends had a limited time).how simple it would be to support customers in a stressful time (moving). Debit is cash. The funds are moved to your account instantly-cannot see any downside-perhaps in taking a moment for your accountants, Second I literally forgot to refill gas in the truck and instead of your representative saying, oh it looks like you forgot to fill up do you want to just go and do that? She added the charge and I was surprised by the invoice total. Her response was indignant “ I told you when you left to refill the gas tank!” She needs training in being in a customer’s world and seeing how she can provide great customer experience.

I read some terrible reviews about issues at this location, so will share the good experiences I had. I reserved a 15 foot truck for 8:00 a.m. on a Wednesday. I was there a few minutes before it opened and was first in line. There were a couple of other reservations at the same time, but only 2 people working at the counter. They were only able to deal with one person at a time, so I'm sure the other two people behind me would have waited a bit. The lot is also very narrow and packed, so only one vehicle can get in or out at a time. However, they got me into the truck very quickly, helped me back out of the lot and into traffic, and there were no issues with the return, mileage or billing on my card.



Location was small and cramped, they did not provide parking for my vehicle while renting. Staff were accomodating, but not over all friendly,

You switched my reservation from one location to another without letting me know. I went to the location I had rented from and they had no record of me! I was sent to location #2 where I picked up the truck I had rented. Because of the change in location I was charged for the extra six kilometers! This is really tacky! I have never been impressed with U-Haul service and that has not changed. I think of U Haul as a company that will grab for every penny and will always find a way to overcharge. Luckily I do not need to use U Haul frequently.

When I went to pick up the 9x5 trailer from the Coxwell, Toronto location,, they would not let me rent it for 3 days. The depot office advised that it was only permitted to be rented for 24 hours and that it was fully booked for the weekend. Therefore, I had to scramble to find alternative options (much bigger trailer - 6x12 from a different U-Haul location) I called head office, just in case, and they advised that it was available for the 3 days from that location - it wasn't booked and and there is no problem - they made the adjustments on the back end and then when I went back into the office at the depot they were all smiles as though the 24 hour thing hadn't happened. I can only assume that they make more money from 3 x 24 hour hires than a 3 day hire and were lying to me about it being booked. Totally shady practices.

It is the worst service we ever had. They took the money of the deposit and after two months, innumerable e mails and calls, we have not received the money back. They steal money from families and they use it and they do not answer effectively the customer requests.

Make drop instructions for drop offs that happen AFTER HOURS very clear, so if customer chooses to complete online drop off using cell phone they know to complete location finder service on phone and upload photos of the vehicle/trailer on site. As in completing these before leaving the equipment. Perhaps at this drop off location the uHaul sign and instructions were blocked by a dropped off vehicle, but on site instructions were not obvious. Big lot. Lots of room. Easy to maneuver.

Honestly a terrible customer experience. We had our pickup location changed at the last minute with minor notification. We spent 30 minutes walking to the other location (Defries St, Toronto) only to be rudely and apathetically told they didn't have a truck for us. We then had to take an uber for 30 minutes to get to the other location (480 Coxwell Ave), which was across town from my place. The two people working there were completely useless and it wasn't until 20 minutes of waiting that the person who seemed like the manager stepped in to sort out our issues, tell us that we had been misquoted and were about to get charged $350 more than expected without apologizing once. To "make-up" for the error, he "upgraded" us to a bigger 15' truck even though we didn't need the extra space, didn't want to deal with driving a bigger van or the added gas costs. When we told them this, they tactlessly told us "well we don't have a 10' truck anyways". This was all after calling Uhaul multiple times to ensure my order was correct and being transferred to and from multiple locations uselessly.
