Owner over charged. Mileage was more than quoted and he charged insurance even Though I said I would Not except. After 20 minutes, I Just paid the bill And moved on. This is my 2nd time at this location and both times They have overcharged. They are rude to their customers as well, from The moment you walk in the door.

While i had chosen not to include insurance when i reserved the VAn, I was told at the counter that i had to pay for it. Isn't that illegal?

I was told i had to put oil in the uhaul every time i got gas. Then the truck would only go 35mph uphill. It took me 3 days and 2 hotels plus 500 dollars in gas and 30 dollars oil. When i got to grants pass the oil and wrench and oil light came on even though i put oil in the truck. I immediately tried calling uhaul customer service and roadside assistance and i was on hold so long my phone died.......i got into town at 1 am and started work at 6 am..... I will never rent from uhaul again.....

When asked if there was a military discount the answer was told no. I was under the impression there was. The car trailer was easy to use just the railing in the middle pierced the bottom of my oil pan and made it leak. So maybe if you had a low car friendly trailer.

Too expensive.



The “computer system” isn’t what it should be. We reserved our 20 foot truck 48 hours before our rental. When we arrive to pick it up, there was no record of us. (I showed them the email, and the tried looking it up by our reservation #, but it wasn’t there.) The people D & D storage were AWESOME!! They called someone that was supposed to arrive LATER, just in case he was running early. (He was early.) 20 minutes later, I was driving away. THANK YOU to D & D !! I tried to do the After Hours drop off, but my reservation wasn’t in my Uhaul Shares acct, so I couldn’t. (This particular truck did not have a pad lock on the back door, and I wasn’t about to leave it with a utility dolly in the back ... unsecured.) The truck drives GREAT, the people were wonderful.

Double D call a day early wanting the truck so I hurried the cleaning of the truck and returned it a day early. I was under mileage by a considerable amount and back a day early. No refund of any kind, but if you go over mileage/days there is a cost added to the bill. I’m sure it’s uhaul policy but there should be something for doing uhaul a favor, since double d needed the truck back today.

Make sure the location where the uhaul is available is up to date. I used the online system to rent one out but got a call later that that particular location was closed so I had to use a different one. On top of that, I signed up to get one at 11:45am but later got told I would get one at 3:30pm. Just give people correct information.

Customer service was absolutely terrible. The location I worked with was fine. Originally I was scheduled to pick up at 8 am at the kansas location in modesto. I called to confirm this appointment and then it was pushed back to a different time but was confirmed to be picked up at the kansas location. I then arrived earlier than the new time and was greeted by terrible customer service. Turns out my rental had just been moved. I recieved a call stating that I was to pick up at another location. I spoke with the agent on kansas about that change and wished to confirm that and make sure i wasnt wasting any more time. She was less than helpful. As I got on the road to retrieve the truck I called the uhaul line again only to recieve the worst help yet as I tried to explain the situation and that I wanted to make sure I was going to be able to get the truck. Once again I was blown away by the lack of service on the call. The agent had no desire to help or reassure me. Finally when I arrived at double d storage I spoke with the people there and they were able to take care of me. Overal my experience was terrible. I wanted to wait a day to cool off before sharing this story but I am still flabbergasted at the horrible overall experience.
